1 Aventail Remote Access Shortly after your account is setup on Aventail, you will receive an with the following subject line: PINsafe Account Details The contains a 4 digit PIN which you will need to memorise. You will also receive a text message on your mobile phone containing access codes. These codes are appended by index numbers 00, 01, 02, 03

2 Logging On To Aventail 1. Open your Web browser and type the following Internet address (URL) into the address bar.. 2. Press Enter on your keyboard and you will be taken to the Aventail login screen. 3. Type your username (Firstname.Surname) into the Username field, and click the Get Index button. You will need to refer to the PINsafe text message on your phone for the code which corresponds to the two digit number displayed here. In this example, the username is Stan.Laurel, and the index field shows that code 02 is the next code to be used.

3 4. Now you need to use the 4 digit PIN you received via to get your password. Find the number on the bottom line that corresponds to each digit of your PIN, enter the result in the Pinsafe OTC Password field and press the Log in button. For example: Stan s PIN is 5097 The digit displayed under the number 5 is 7 The digit displayed under the number 0 is 2 The digit displayed under the number 9 is 8 The digit displayed under the number 7 is 4 The Index number is 02 So Stan will enter in the Pinsafe OTC Password field, and logs on by pressing the Log in button. 5. After you have used a code to log in, it will expire. Next time you connect to Aventail the index number will change to the next code in your text message. After using the last code in the series, you should automatically receive a text message containing a new set of codes.

4 Installing Remote Access Components If this is the first time you are using Aventail on your computer, you will see the Aventail Access Manager screen. You will need to install a number of remote access components to allow your Web browser to connect. 1. Click the Install button on the Aventail Access Manager screen 2. Depending on your Web browser version and settings, during the installation process you may see one or more security alerts displayed at the top of your browser window. You will need to click on this security bar and select Run Add-on or Run ActiveX Control from the options menu to continue the installation.

5 3. Install each component by clicking the Run button on each File Download message window. 4. Once the components have been installed, you will be directed to the Remote Access Home page.

6 Home Page From the menu on the Home page, you will be able to connect to remote networks by clicking on the named links, or opening Web pages by typing a website address in the Intranet Address field and clicking the Go button. The layout of the Home page is dependant on your organisation / department / role and so may differ from the one shown here. Once you connect to a remote network from the menu, the logon page for the network will be displayed on screen. Enter your organisation User name and Password and click OK to logon. When you want to disconnect your Aventail remote session, click Log out at the top of the Home page, and then click the Close button
