1 APPENDIX B Using The HomeTechOnLine.net Web Site To Manage Your Account HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator Version 4.1 This document provides details for the added program features of HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator version 4.1. This document is only concerned with the program features that are new to the HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.1 version of the software, and does not include the program features that have remained unchanged since the HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.0 version of the program. This document is meant to supplement the existing documentation for the HomeTech ADVANTAGE Estimating software version 4.0. One of the most beneficial differences between HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.0 and HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.1 is that the HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.1 has networking capabilities, allowing users to share both Estimate and CostBook data on a network or server. The HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.0 is a Single-User version of the software, and has limited data sharing capabilities. The HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.1 will be available in two (2) versions as follows: (1) Single-User Version This version will have limited data sharing capabilities, and (2) Multi-User Version This version will have networking capabilities. Another important benefit of the HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.1 is that users will be able access the HomeTechOnline.net web site, thereby allowing users to update their accounts and to receive program downloads and program updates while online. This will allow for more payment options, greater flexibility in obtaining the program or program updates via online downloads, and provide a higher standard of customer support to the user.

5 LINK TO THE HOMETECHONLINE.NET WEB SITE HomeTechOnline.net is a web site created for HomeTech customers. This web site is designed to provide the HomeTech user greater flexibility in maximizing the use of their HomeTech products. From this web site, users will have the following options: Change your HomeTech Online.net password. Update their account information. Add to and download from a database of User-created items. Return your software. LINK TO THE HOMETECHONLINE.NET WEB SITE The following instructions will discuss how to access the HomeTechOnline.net web site through the UTILITIES pull-down menu, as well as discuss the options available to the user. NOTE: TO ACCESS THE HOMETECHONLINE.NET WEB SITE, YOU MUST BE ONLINE AND CONNECTED WITH YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER (ISP) WHEN ACCESSING THIS SITE. 1
6 LOG IN To get to the HomeTechOnline.net web site from the Estimate window, choose the UTILITIES pull-down menu. Then choose the LINK TO THE HOMETECH ONLINE WEB SITE feature. LOG IN This will display the HomeTech ADVANTAGE Use Site log in window. Enter your HomeTech ADVANTAGE serial number. Choose GO to continue. 2
7 LOG IN Next, enter your HomeTechOnline.net password in the provided box. Choose GO to continue. If you have forgotten or lost your password, click on the link to have your password ed to you. LOG IN This will display the User Menu window. From this menu the user will have several options available. These options will help the user to manage their account, and help the user to maximize the use of their HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator software. 3
8 USER MENU LINK TO THE HOMETECHONLINE.NET WEB SITE From the User Menu window, the user has several options available to them to help manage their account. The following options are available: 1. Items Allows users to browse a database of user-created items. 2. Add User Items Allows users to add their own custom items to a database of user-created items. 3. View My Information Allows a user to review and modify their account information. 4. Renew Subscription Allows current or expired users to renew and/or upgrade their HomeTech ADVANTAGE software subscription. 5. Change Password This allows the user to change their password needed to access the HomeTechOnline.net web site. 6. Return Software Allows a user to return the software package within the guaranteed trial period. VIEW MY INFORMATION The View My Information feature allows a user to review and modify their HomeTechOnline.net account information. This feature will be useful in updating your account information, to include name, address, address, and phone number. From the User Menu window, choose VIEW MY INFORMATION. This will display the Verify Your Information window. NOTE: THE FIRST PROCEDURE A USER SHOULD COMPLETE UPON ENTERING THIS USER SITE IS TO CHECK THEIR ACCOUNT INFORMATION FOR ACCURACY. 4
9 VIEW MY INFORMATION In the Verify Your Information window, review your account information for accuracy. Make any modifications as needed. Choose SAVE CHANGES to update your account information. Choose RETURN TO MENU to exit to the User Menu without saving. NOTE: Any fields denoted with a yellow background are blocked from use. These fields cannot be modified by the user. CHANGE PASSWORD Users can change their HomeTechOnLine.net account passwords for either security or convenience reasons. To change a HomeTechOnLine.net account password, choose CHANGE PASSWORD from the User Menu. This will display the Change Password window. 5
10 CHANGE PASSWORD In the Change Password window, enter your new password two times. Once each in the provided fields. Choose ACCEPT to save the password changes. Choose cancel to return to the User Menu window without saving. NOTE: PASSWORDS MUST BE AT LEAST SIX (6) CHARACTERS IN LENGTH. NOTE: PASSWORDS CANNOT CONTAIN ANY SPACES OR SPECIAL CHARACTERS. USE ONLY ALPHABETICAL OR NUMERICAL CHARACTERS. The feature applies to the following groups of Advantage users: 1. Current Subscribers To The HomeTech ADVANTAGE Software - The feature will allow current subscribers to extend their subscriptions for 1, 2, or 3 year terms. This feature also allows current subscribers to download and install the software. 2. Expired Subscribers To The HomeTech ADVANTAGE Software - The feature will allow expired subscribers to renew their subscriptions for 1, 2, or 3 year terms. Once renewed, these subscribers can also download and install the software. To renew your HomeTech ADVANTAGE subscription from the User Menu, choose. This will display the Verify Your Information window. 6
11 In the Verify Your Information window, review your account information for accuracy. Make any modifications as needed. Choose SAVE CHANGES to update your account information. Choose CONTINUE to proceed to the Subscription Information window. Choose CANCEL to return to the User Menu. NOTE: Any fields denoted with a yellow background are blocked from use. These fields cannot be modified by the user. In the Subscription Information window, the user will have several options available to them in regards to (1) Renewal Options, and (2) Delivery Options. Choose the renewal and delivery options that best meet your needs, and choose CONTINUE to proceed 1.Renewal Options Current or Expired subscribers may renew or extend their subscriptions for 1,2, or 3-year terms. Current subscribers can request a copy of the current software. The user must specify how they want to receive their upgrade: (1) Download, (2) CD-ROM, or (3) both. 2.Delivery Options Choose the delivery option that best meets your needs in regards to price and delivery time. NOTE: For current subscribers to download the program without renewing, simply choose I WILL RENEW LATER and choose DOWNLOAD. Then choose CONTINUE to proceed. 7
12 From the Renew Subscription window, choose the renewal and delivery options that best meet your needs. When you have finished making your selections, choose CALCULATE to view the total price of your order. Choose CONTINUE to proceed to the Order Information window. NOTE: Any fields denoted with a yellow background are blocked from use. These fields cannot be modified by the user. In the Order Information window, the user must specify where they want to bill their software. The billing address for the software must match the billing address of their credit card if the user intends on paying with their credit card. If the shipping address for the software is the same as the billing address, check the SAME AS SHIP TO box. This will automatically fill out the users information. When the user has correctly filled out the information in the Order Information window, Choose PROCEED TO CHECKOUT to continue to the Checkout window. Choose BACK to go back to the Renew Subscription window. Choose CANCEL to return to the User Menu. NOTE: If using a credit card as payment, the billing address for the software must match the billing address for the credit card being used. 8
13 From the Checkout window, the user must enter their credit card information. Make sure to include: 1.FIRST & LAST NAME ON THE CREDIT CARD. 2.CARD TYPE. 3.CREDIT CARD NUMBER. 4.MONTH & YEAR OF CARD EXPIRATION. NOTE: Do not enter any SPACES, DASHES, or SLASHES in the credit card number. NOTE: The billing address for the software must match the billing address for the credit card being used. When you have correctly entered your credit card information in the Checkout window, choose SUBMIT to proceed to the Confirmation window. NOTE: Click only ONCE on the Submit button. When you choose Submit your credit card on file will be charged. In the Confirmation window the user has the options to download the current version of the software, or to skip the download. To continue with the download process, choose GO TO DOWNLOAD PAGE. This will display the Confirmation window. 9
14 In the Confirmation window, choose DOWNLOAD HOMETECH ADVANTAGE 4.1 to continue the download process. This will display the One-Click Install window. For users who have chosen the Download option, the One-Click Install window will display. In the One-Click Install window, choose INSTALL to begin the download process. The installation file is now being downloaded. When this file has finished downloading, the install routine will automatically begin installing the HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator 4.1 to your computer. NOTE: The progress bar on your browser page will display download progress. 10
15 Upon completion of the download process, the install routine for the HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator 4.1 will automatically begin. This will display the InstallShield Wizard window. Choose NEXT to begin the install process. Choose cancel to abort the installation. The install process will be very similar to the install process of previous versions of HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator, as well as to many other program installations. It is important to follow all on-screen prompts, and enter any information as required. In the License Agreement window, read the license agreement carefully. Choose I ACCEPT THE IN THE LICENSE AGREEMENT if you agree to the terms. Choose NEXT to continue with the installation process. This will display the Customer Information window. If you do not agree with the license terms, choose I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE LICENSE TERMS. Choosing NEXT will abort the installation process. You will not be allowed to install the software if you do not agree to the license terms. 11
16 In the Customer Information window, complete the required fields with the correct information. You will need to enter you HomeTech ADVANTAGE Cost Estimator SERIAL NUMBER and KEY CODE. If you do not have your serial number or key code, check your new . You should have already received a confirmation that includes this information. If you have not received the confirmation , please call HomeTech Information Systems, Inc. at for further assistance. Choose NEXT to continue and complete the installation process, and remember to follow all on-screen prompts, and enter any information as required. VIEW USER ITEMS The View User Items feature is a feature designed to allow current HomeTech ADVANTAGE subscribers to view and download from a database of user created items. From the User Menu, choose VIEW USER ITEMS. 12

When this feature becomes available, documentation will be made available as well. Choose CLOSE to return to the User Menu. ADD NEW ITEMS The Add New Items feature is a feature designed to allow current HomeTech ADVANTAGE subscribers to add their own custom items to a database of user created items. From the User Menu, choose ADD NEW ITEMS. 13

RETURN SOFTWARE To return your software package for refund within the 60 day guaranteed trial period, complete the following procedure. From the User Menu choose RETURN SOFTWARE. This will display the Return Software Form window. To return your software, you must still be in the 60 day guaranteed trial time period. When returning your software, be sure to return all materials including any CD- ROM s or disks, any documentation, and any received books or manuals. 14
19 RETURN SOFTWARE LINK TO THE HOMETECHONLINE.NET WEB SITE In the Return Software Form window, print the available form by choosing PRINT FORM. You can fill the form out before printing or hand write the form after printing. Choose BACK to return to the User Menu window. Choose CLOSE to close the window. Include a copy of this completed form in the package containing your returned software. When returning your software, be sure to return all materials including any CD-ROM s or disks, any documentation, and any received books or manuals. 15
