Introduction Introduction LitePoint IQ3130 is a smartphone / data card test solution that addresses key technologies including: GSM / EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA / HSPA+, CDMA2000, LTE. IQ3130 delivers large test-cost reduction to smartphone and data-card testing with parallel test architecture. IQ3130 provides a one-step function for device testing with significant reduction of test costs because it allows four devices to be tested in nearly the same time as one device would require with a traditional test methodology. Parallel Test Drives Cost Reduction Parallel testing is now the most effective way to dramatically reduce mobile device test costs. With ever-increasing volumes and highly-optimized test times, testing multiple DUTs at one test station provides a path to doubling device-test throughput

Connecting the Host System to IQ3130 Connecting the Host System to IQ3130 The host PC communicates with IQ3130 via direct connection using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable or using a DHCP server on the network. Perform the following actions to verify that the host PC can communicate with IQ3130 and to set up a simple loop-back test: 1. Before connecting power, make sure the AC power switch on the back panel of IQ3130 is turned off. 2. Turn IQ3130 on. The LED beneath the power button blinks while IQ3130 is booting and the Status LED is red until the system is ready. IQ3130 is ready when both LEDs turn solid green. 3. Make sure that both the host PC and IQ3130 are connected in one of the following two ways: directly using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable via a Local Area Network Note: You may use either a static or dynamic IP address to connect to the IQ3130 test system. The default mode is static IP address set to and the subnet mask set to You can view and change the static IPaddress using the IQ3130 user interface or from the IQ3130 Monitor using a VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to the IQ3130 test system. You can change to dynamic IP address by selecting the DHCP option in the IQ3130 user interface or the IQ3130 Monitor. 4. Connect a loop-back coaxial cable between ports RF1A and RF2A on IQ Open a Web browser and type the host name of the IQ3130 test system or the assigned IP address of the test system, for example, iqxs00208 or , and press Enter. Note: Flash Player 10.3 is required to view the IQ3130 user interface on the browser. The IQ3130 user interface displays. 6. Click Port Routing to configure the RF ports for a loop-back connection from the VSG to the VSA. 7. For example, if the loop-back coaxial cable is between ports RF1A and RF2A, then in the IQ3130 user interface port routing screen, click VSG for port RF1A and VSA for port RF2A. The VSG and VSA buttons turn gray and the state indicates the port routing. A representation of this connection is shown in the figure below. 8. Close the Port Routing screen

Hardware System Setup Hardware System Setup The IQ3130 test system uses multiple hardware blocks to provide concurrent test capabilities for GSM, W-CDMA, CDMA2000, and LTE technologies. The IQ3130 is ready to tackle Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology used by both HSPA+ and LTE systems. A second vector signal analyzer (VSA) and vector signal generator (VSG) option allows two fully independent waveforms to be sent to a MIMO DUT for true MIMO receive testing. The figure below provides a representation of the IQ3130 test system s basic functional block diagram. The IQ3130 has a built-in switch matrix and signal conditioning hardware to ease multi-dut testing. All instrument ports are fully calibrated to the connector plane removing a vast deal from the user with how to deal with signal routing for multiple DUTs. The figure below represents the IQ3130 test system functional block diagram of a dual module configuration

IQ3130 Application Dashboard IQ3130 Application Dashboard The dashboard is an interface to the test system to control port routing, display connectivity state and operate all the technology modules. The IQ3130 Application Dashboard is divided into the following two sections: The main page The slide-out menu The Main Page The buttons on the main page allow you to do port routing, access the test system using SCPI commands, load and play waveforms and save capture data. The Slide-Out Menu The slide-out menu allows you to: access the technology modules view information about the test system access IQ3130 documentation access the Admin tool access diagnostics and log files The main page has the following buttons: Port Routing SCPI Console Waveforms Captures Port Routing The Port Routing screen allows you to configure the RF port operating modes, and to set the RF corrections to compensate for external cable losses. Both the port modes and RF corrections may be set independently on a per-port basis

IQ3130 Application Dashboard You can set the ports RF1 through RF4 for the upper and lower modules as input, output, duplex, or high impedance (off). Do the following to set the port mode: To set the port to input mode, click VSA. To set the port to output mode, click VSG. To set the port to duplex mode, click both VSA and VSG. You can set the streaming port (STRM1) for RF output or high impedance (off) only. Editing the Port Correction Tables The Port Correction window allows you to configure up to 10 tables of RF corrections vs. frequency for each module in the system. Use the Correction Table Editor to specify the corrections and frequencies for each table. Each table may contain from 1 to 128 frequency vs correction entries. Perform the following actions to edit the port correction tables: 1. If your IQ3130 test system has both upper and lower modules, select the desired module from the Rout drop-down menu. The lower module is Rout 1 and the upper module is Rout From the Table# drop-down menu, select the table to edit. 3. In the Frequency text box, enter the frequency. 4. In the Correction text box, enter the correction value for the associated frequency. 5. Click Add The specified frequency and correction displays in the columns on the right side. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to specify corrections for additional frequencies. You can have up to 128 values for each table. The Tables Status area highlights the tables that have been populated. Click Save All to save all the correction tables to the non-volatile IQ3130 file system. Assigning Corrections to Ports In each of the Port boxes, VSA and VSG each have a Correction Tables drop-down menu. Select the table to use for each device. When you select a table, the frequency corrections from that table are automatically applied to the VSG and/or VSA settings for that port. Correction values are automatically interpolated for any frequencies that fall between frequency entries in the table. SCPI Console SCPI Console screen is divided into two areas: the upper SCPI console area that allows you to send SCPI commands to the test system and the lower Trace area that allows you to record SCPI commands as they execute either from the GUI or from an external application. 12

IQ3130 Application Dashboard To execute a command using the SCPI Console, type the command in the text box located at the bottom end of the SCPI console and click Enter. The command displays in the SCPI Console and executes in the test system. Click Error to display any command errors in the console. Click Clear to clear the contents in the console. To trace commands as they execute from the GUI, select GUI from the Source dropdown menu and then click Start Trace. As you operate the GUI, only the SCPI commands executed from the GUI display in the Trace window. To trace commands as they execute from an external application, select EXT from the Source drop-down menu and then click Start Trace. As the external application runs, only the SCPI commands sent from the application display in the Trace window. The Trace window has three columns: Timestamp - displays the number of milliseconds elapsed from the time the trace was started Command - displays the command executed Result - displays the result for a command, if applicable Click Stop Trace to stop the trace program. Click Clear to clear the trace or Download to download the trace log to your local system

IQ3130 Application Dashboard Waveforms The Waveforms feature is used to upload, download or play waveform files. Click Waveforms to open a list of waveforms files in the Waveform Browser.
