Minor Fixes VH20 DTMF Receive Level: Allows the level of the DTMF digits heard in the room to be adjusted. VH20 DTMF dialing fix: Under certain conditions a DTMF digit would sometimes be dialed twice. This has been corrected so DTMF digits always only dial once. Page 1

2 February 2011 Converge Pro Firmware Release Notes ClearOne announces a minor product release for the Converge Pro Conferencing mixers. This release includes new firmware for the entire product line with focus on the VH20 and TH20 product feature sets. The section below describes key elements in the release. The firmware release will include all Converge Pro products. New Functions, Features, and Enhancements VH20 3-Way Calling - New functionality was included in the VH20 to allow 3-way calling. It includes an augmented list of serial commands for 3-Way calling. Early Media Support - Added Early Media Support for use with may SIP bridging services. Compatibility Issues G-Series Capabilities exchange with Cisco Call Manger - Corrected a compatibility issue with Cisco Call Manger with G.Series codec selection order. TH20 Boot Code Modification - A modification was made to the boot code of the TH20 for manufacturing purposes. This has no user impacts and was strictly for production flexibility. Fixed Issues from Version AES F8 and HMACS Setting - Corrected bug that caused SIP stack to stop function if specific encryptions modes were selected. EBUS REF on VH20 - Fixed a bug that prevented the VH20 to be routed to an E-Bus reference on the expansion bus. VH20 DHCP Lease Process - Corrected a bug on the VH20 in which device required to be rebooted if assigned IP addressed changed through the DHCP lease process. Out of Band DTMF - Added support for SIP:Info messages used in out of band DTMF relaying. Known Issues in release Way Calling with Cisco Call Manager - A known issue occurs when the VH20 is in a 3-Way call with two remote participants. When the remote participant on line 1 places the call on Hold, audio on the 2nd line of the VH20 is suspended. The call must then be terminated in order to release the 2nd line. October 2009 Converge Pro 3.X Release Notes ClearOne announces a major product release for the Converge Pro conferencing mixers. The release includes new products, firmware, and software. The section below describes key elements of the release. New Functions, Features and Enhancements Converge Pro VH20 - The Converge Pro VH20 is a new VoIP hybrid for the Converge Pro product line. The VH20 is a SIP based endpoint with 2-Line Inputs, 2-Line Outputs, and full expansion bus capabilities. Interoperability Testing - The Converge Pro VH20 was tested with Avaya, Nortel, and Cisco SIP based voice platforms. Tabletop Controller for VoIP - A new tabletop control has been developed to control both the VH20 and TH20 (880T, 840T, and 880TA) telephone interfaces. Microsoft Vista and Windows 7 Compatibility - This release adds compatibility for Console software with Microsoft Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. Converge Manager Software - A new Converge Manager will be release to incorporate the 3.X version. Installed Controller Software - A new version of Installed Controller will be released that allows the programming of the VH20 and new Tabletop Controller for VoIP. Local Number to Telephone Hybrids - A new feature has been incorporated into the Telephone Setting property page that allows a local number to be set for the Telephone Hybrids. Version Information on Console - The software version has been added to the Console windows header to help designate which version has been loaded from Console Manager. Page 2

3 Compatibility Issues Proxy 1 & Proxy 2 Registration - The Converge Pro VH20 has a failover proxy registration function that allows failover operations. This function allows the VH20 to automatically register to a second proxy address if communication is lost with the primary proxy. However, an explicit domain name must be used for the function to operate properly with a common dial plan. If an IP address for Proxy 1 and Proxy 2 are used then the dial plan will not work properly. Updates to Serial Commands - During interoperability testing with Cisco Call Manager 7 it was found that if a SCCP Endpoint placed the VH20 on hold the media stream could be suspended. The root cause of this was how CM7 performs its SIP messaging. To correct the issue and maintain compatibility with other SIP proxies a serial command was added to the VH20. The command is PROXYTYPE (see below). The function of this command is to set any special call handling on the VH20 that may be required by a specific manufacturer s proxy. PROXYTYPE - Set/Get Proxy Type NAME TYPE SIZE VALUES Const. Channel><Group><Value> TEXT FORM DETAILS Command Form: Device Proxytype <Value> Fixed Issues from Release 2.X Copy/Paste Unit - A bug was fixed that prevented copying and pasting complete units in the Console software. Event Scheduler - A bug was fixed in which a unit would discarded reoccurring events with a site file push if the start date was in the past. Meter View - In the meter view, when an SR 1212A is selected, there are 3 meter types of Invalid Meter. This issue has been fixed. PA Virtual reference on the SR 1212A - Virtual References were not being passed across expansion busses on the Converge SR 1212A. This has been corrected. Macro Delete: Macros were remaining in the site file after a delete function. This has been fixed. Macro Recorder: The macro recorder produced an error when started on a unit with a DID greater than 7. This has been fixed. Compatibility with the Korean Version of Window XP: Unit names are not saved with the site file on Korean Windows XP. This issue has been fixed. International Time Codes for Microsoft Windows: Some international versions of Windows utilize a different time zone format than the the format used in Console. This created compatibly issues with loading site files in the Console application. This has been corrected. Matrix Conversion for PSR Site Files: A bug existed in 2.X that would default the matrix on a PSR conversion. This has been fixed. Known Issues in release 3.x Device Logging of SIP Messages - An issue has been identified in Release 3.X associated with the Device Logging of SIP Messaging. Specifically, there is a potential for the SIP communications to stop on the unit when the SIP messaging is enabled in the Device Log. When this symptom appears it can be corrected by rebooting the unit. The recommendation is to leave SIP messaging disabled in the device log unless required for troubleshooting specific issues. SCCP to VH20 Call Terminations - On rare occasions, an in-network call termination from an SCCP endpoint is not recognized by a VH20; resulting in an invalid state on the VH20 SIP stack, requiring a reboot prior to the next call. The cause of this problem may be related to an audio codec mismatch between the VH20 and Media Terminal Point with Call Manger. The recommendation is to set the codec priority on the VH20 to G.711 ulaw to reduce the potential occurrence. This was observed on Call Manager 7. Page 3

4 SNMP Agent on VH20 - Set functions for the Dial Plan properties are not working properly with the SNMP agent. The recommendation is to not use the MIB for configuration of the Dial plan on the VH20. This will be corrected on a future release. Site Files with 255 Macros Programmed - An issue was found that prevents a site file from properly loading on the unit if all 255 Macros are programmed. The recommendation is to only allow a maximum of 254 Macros in any site file. This will be corrected on a future release. March 2009 ClearOne announces a major product release for the Converge Pro conferencing mixers. The release includes new products, firmware, and software. The section below describes key elements of the release. New Functions, Features and Enhancements Converge Pro 880TA - The Converge Pro 880TA is a new conferencing mixer with 8 AEC channels, telephone hybrid, and 4 power amplifier channels capable of 35 watts into 8 ohm. The PA channels also have terminals for 70/100V interface. Key features and functions within the new mixer include Feedback Elimination - The PA channels include ClearOne s new feedback cancellation with ring elimination. PA Virtual AEC Reference - A new PA AEC virtual reference has been added that tracks all dynamic signal processing changes in the channel. Loudspeaker Centric Signal Processing Chain - The PA channels include signal processing functions associated with loudspeakers to include EQ, Noise Gate, Limiter/Compressor. Converge Pro SR 1212A - The Converge Pro SR 1212A is a new sound reinforcement mixer with 8 mic/line channels, 4 line inputs, 8 line outputs and 4 power amplifier channels. Converge Manager Software - The Converge Manager software is an application that allow an installer to connect to either 1.X or 2.X sites. This application is similar to the G-Switch in the XAP product line. Increase Maximum Number of Microphones - The maximum number of microphones support on a site by the automatic microphone mixer has increased to 96 total microphones. The previous limit was 64 microphones. New Expansion Bus Channels - Six new expansion buses have been added to each mixer. The new buses are labeled I thru N. Additional Expansion Bus NOM Capabilities - Expansion Buses I-R all support NOM in this release. New Global Gating Groups - Two new global gating groups (E&F) have been added to the units. New Expansion Bus AEC Reference Channels - Four new expansion bus reference (5-8) has been added to the units. Custom Ring Cadence Setting - A new function has been added to allow a user to customize the detectable ringer cadence used by the Converge Pro telephone hybrids. Added RAMP command to Telco Channels - The RAMP gain function has been added to the telco channels. Print All Function for Macro - A new feature was added to allow the user to print all macros on a unit. Last Macro/Preset Displayed in Console - A new feature was added to report the last macro and preset ran on the unit. This is displayed in the bottom toolbar of Console. Added Gain Events to Device Log - A new feature has been added to the device log that reports channel gain changes. Site File Conversion from 1.X to 2.X Files - The PSR Conversion utility has been modified to allow 1.X files to be converted to a 2.X format. Database Builder Updates - The database builder was modified to allow creation and sharing of Macro, Presets, and Matrix objects. Installed Controller Builder - The Converge Pro 880TA and Converge Pro SR 1212A have been added to the Installed Controller Builder software allowing the use with the Installed Controller. Converge Installation CD - The Converge installation CD will automatically install the Console, Console Manager, and Installed Controller Builder on the PC. Page 4

5 Compatibility Issues Mixed Stack Operations & Firmware Updates - The 2.X release made significant improvement to the expansion bus capabilities creating an incompatibility between 1.X and 2.X units in the same site. A 1.X unit must be isolated from any 2.X units on the expansion bus prior to operations and any firmware upgrade. This can be achieved by disconnecting any 2.X units on the bus. The 2.X firmware upgrade procedure also requires the firmware file to be downloaded to the unit twice. The first download provides the application code to the unit. The second download provides a listing of all Converge Pro unit types to include the 880TA and SR 1212A. Web Based Firmware Upgrade from 1.X to 2.X - The Web Based firmware loader function cannot be used to perform a upgrade from Version 1.X to Version 2.X. All firmware upgrade must be done through Console for this release. Version 1.X A/V and Object Database - Any A/V and channel object created in version 1.X will not be compatible with version 2.X. The user must recreate the objects with the Console 2.X release. Console Manager Software and Microsoft Vista - The user will require administrative privileges to install and launch the Converge Manager. The Console Manager allows the registration of either Console 1.X or Console 2.X. This can create security permission problems with Windows Vista. This can be overcome by having admin privileges and disabling the User Access Control function within Vista. Known Issues Pushing a 2.X Site File to a 1.X Unit - The user can accidentally push a site file created in Console Version 2.0 to a unit running version 1.X. This will cause the User Name and Password to become scrambled. This can be corrected by defaulting the unit. Firmware Updates with more than 10 Units in Stack - A remote disconnect may occur during a firmware update with more than 10 units in the stack. The cause of this is the communication heartbeat between Console and the Site is currently disabled in the firmware updating mode. The communication may time-out during the multiple file transfers to all the units being updated. If this occurs, the recommendation is to split the units in maximum counts of 8 prior firmware update. This issue will be addressed in future releases. Console Software Chinese Help File Support - This release does not have the translated on-line help for Console. This will be included in a future release. PSR to CVG File Conversions - A number of PSR to CVG file conversion bugs have been identified and are not resolved in this release. It includes Phonebook - A PSR phonebook will not be converted to the new CVG file. Front Panel Lock - Front Panel Lock is not supported in the Converge Pro. XAP TH2 GPIO Conversion - A TH2 control status conversion to a Converge Pro TH20 will improperly map pin 17 of the TH 2 to pin 18 in the TH20. EREF Command in XAP Macro - The EREF command used in a macro will not be converted to the new Converge Pro Macro. Ringer Command in XAP Macro - A Ringer command with a macro is not converted properly to the Converge Pro macro.
