3 I. About this guide This guide is for the Patrol Management Online Report System Administrator. The Role of the System Administrator Your role may cover some or all of the following: Installation and configuration server and workstations software. User administration. Back-up or recovery reports. Data security. First level user support. Periodic customization tasks, such as area management and user permission management. II. Introduction 1. System architecture Patrol management online report system is a Browser/Server architecture system. It allows users to inquire report online. It collects raw data in Workstations. After data process in Workstations, data transfer to server database. You could set the duration that data stored in the server database. The data older than the set duration data will be deleted from the server database. All original data still saved in workstations database. It helps the server database work efficiently. User could check patrol reports and manage the permission by using web browser in any time and anywhere. The following diagrams illustrate the system architecture of the online report system. 1

4 Simple System Architecture In this Simple System Architecture, user needs only our remote TCP/IP products such as BS-6000 station, BS-3300 station, and BP-3000 reader to upload data the Server PC, no local workstation PC is needed. 2

5 Mixed System Architecture In the Mixed System Architecture, user can integrate our patrol products into the online report system. 1.1 Server Install PatrolServer package software in Server PC and configure system setup in Server PC. 1.2 Workstations Install Basic Patrol Management System software and configure network settings in workstations. 1.3 Report inquiry Access to inquire and manage patrol reports by web browser. 2. System requirements A typical patrol management online report system consists of a server and one or more browser stations. The hardware and software requirements for each type of 3

6 patrol management online report system installation are listed in the following tables. Note that these are the minimum system requirements for patrol management online report system, and your operating system may have higher requirements for some components, such as processor speed and RAM. Installing Patrol Management Online Report System Setup in server 1. Installing Patrol Management Online Report System Run patrol management online report system setup, and install the software step by step. 2. Installing Dongle driver. What is Dongle? A dongle is a mechanism for ensuring that only authorized users can copy or use specific software applications, especially very expensive programs. How to use it? Please install PatrolServer software and install the Dongle driver. Before you run the PatrolServer program, please make sure the Dongle has been plugged into your Server computer. Please do not plug it out when you are running the program. 4

7 Following illustration is the Dongle installation windows. It will display automatically after you install server package. Checking Parallel Dog Driver and click on the Install Driver to start the installation. IV. Configuring Patrol Server After installation, restart your computer. You could found an icon at the right bottom of the screen. Right click the icon and select Options Go to System Setup screen. 5

8 a) TCP/IP The default number of TCP Port is 6002, default PackSize is 2. We advise to use the default value. b) Database Input server s IP address and MySQL database s port number. User is root, input the password you set when install MySQL. Check Use Utf8. Click Connect Mysql and Apply to update the value. c) Web Default Port number is 80. d) Keep in Current Database You could select the months you want to keep the data in the server database. Before the data, all data will be deleted. Double click the icon, open following windows. 6

9 It shows the system information. You could check the information when you have problem with transfer data. V. Installing Basic Patrol Management System in workstations (If you use patrol management online report system software locally, you could install Basic Patrol Management System in the server PC too.) 1. Run Basic Patrol Management System software, and install the software step by step. 2. During the process you need install USB Driver. Click on the Install button. Click on the OK button. USB driver was installed successfully. 7

10 VI. Configuring network settings Open Basic Patrol management system software in workstation. Click System Connect to the Network and Upload Data. Click Network Settings to configure network setting. Input server IP address and TCP port number, click on the Connect button. 8

11 Interval (Min): It is the interval minutes that the system check if it is need to transfer data to server or not. We do not advise to set this value too small for efficiency reason. Automatically Connect to the Network and Upload Data: After start the system, go to web transfer data model automatically, to check if it needs to transfer data to server database. If it is necessary, transfer data to server. If uncheck this item, you must click to transfer data. Notice: Please click Connect to ensure it is linked to the Server successfully. Do not forget to click on the Save button to save your settings. After setting, it will show the number of remain records. Click on the Send button. It shows the number of remain records until the number is reduced to 0. Resend: If the server changed, you need set the duration. Selecting the start time and end time, then click on the Resend button to transfer data again. 9

12 VII. About Web Inquiry and Management 1. Login System Access website open the main page. There are 4 types of users, each with different levels of rights. Details are in the following table. 13 The System Administrator has the highest level of rights, other type of users have limited rights signed by their superiors. You may login system with other types of users once they have been created. 2. System Administrator When you login system the system for the first time, please login as System Administrator. The user name: sysman; default password: After login, go to this screen. You could select Modify Password to change administrator s password. 2.1 User Management Click User Management, go to following page. 11

14 (1) Add: Input UserName and Password to add a new user, click Add, and then a user has been added successfully. 12

15 (2) Assign Rights: Select different company for a user to assign management rights. One user could manage different companies. (3) Change: You could modify the current user s UserName and Password. Click Modify go to following page. After changing UserName and Password, click on the Modify button. 13

16 2.2 Company Information Click Company Information to display Company Code and respective Company Name. 3. Reports 3.1 Basic Report Click Basic Report, and then set inquiry condition. 14

17 After setting, click on the Inquiry button, you get the result. Export Record Click Export Excel button, export record to excel file. Click Export PDF button, export record to PDF file. Click Print button, print all records. 3.2 Frequency Report Click Frequency Report, go to following page. 15

18 It could be inquired by checkpoint, guard or event. Here using checkpoint as an example. After checkpoint is checked, it will show the following page. After the Company, CheckPoint, and Time are set, click Inquiry, go to following page 16

19 3.3 Patrol Details Click Patrol Details, go to following page. It could be inquired by Route, Guard or Event, after setting the inquiry condition, click Inquiry button, and go to following page. 17

20 Statistic function can be used only when you choose Route and CheckPoint. Click Stat. button go to following page. 3.4 Shift Report Click Shift Report, go to following page. 18

21 Select Company, Type by route or checkpoint, and Date, Click Inquiry button, go to following page. Click Detail, go to following page. 19
