4 Overview This document briefly describes the enhancements and bug fixes that are included in the LOGarc 4.6 release. Enhancements This release includes the following product enhancements: Area Programs and Features menu Client Description Prefix the names of all applications (Autoloader, Installer for LOGarc Client and Utilities, Web Service) in the Windows Programs and Features menu with IHS LOGarc. The LOGarc Client Visual Explorer, Rasters and Well Files modules are now enabled by default. For LOGarc Web Service Suite customers, the user credentials created in their proprietary databases need only apply in their own local Web Service, and no longer required to be validated against the IHS database for module entitlements. Improved the retriever interpolation logic when retrieving LAS curves with a depth increment set to a higher resolution. Now the retriever interpolation logic preserves the non-null value when averaging between two values if one of the values is null. We removed the unnecessary Cancel button on the Accounts dialog box. Previously when editing a client account, a Cancel button appeared both on the Edit User Account dialog box and on the Accounts dialog box from which it was launched. Replaced the Syncfusion grid component in both Client and Utilities with a DevExpress grid component that aligns with other IHS Markit standards. Databases Utilities Web Service A new shade option appears on the parent check box when some (but not all) of the active child records are selected. If a filter is applied and only the records with check marks appear, the check mark in the parent check box displays as solid. Updated LOGarc SQL and Oracle schema. LOGarc Web Service Suite customers need to run the upgrade scripts to update your databases from the 4.4 to 4.6 schema, which will improve performance. This script creates INDEX LT_WELL_IX6 for UWI and HIST_UWI columns in the LOGTECH_WELLS table, and rectifies bugs DE89779, and DE Modified the UWI Migrator function by increasing the time delay to account for potential network latencies at a companies data store directories. Improved data security by encrypting users passwords in the database. After upgrading to web service version 4.6, you must run the one-time batch encrypt function in the Administrate Users page of the Web Service Admin screen. 4

5 Bug Fixes This release includes the following product enhancements: Area Description Defect Number Autoloader Client Fixed the typos that previously appeared in the ADD BIN module for RASTERS location and for MERGE location. Now these locations match the actual names of each data source. DE69210 When retrieving logs using Quick Search with a custom filter DE75106 applied, the custom filter is now honored without requiring well expansion. Changed the format in which dates were delivered to the results grid so that they are in proper date format and can be sorted accordingly. DE68992 Note that there may be some discrepancies in date fields that are extrapolated from individual LAS files depending on the consistency with which that date format was originally recorded in the LAS file. Restored the feature where LOGarc Client intuitively recreates profile settings from the Program Files settings when the users profile settings in the My Documents /LOGarc directory are accidentally moved or deleted. Previously, missing profiles settings generated an unhandled exception message. Restored the feature where when you launch LOGarc client without an account set, LOGarc prompts you to select an account. DE84057 DE86567 Previously when using the Digital Logs tab, unless the operand in the Custom Filter field was <in> or <not in>, curves groups would not appear in the selection pane. LOGarc now adds a trailing forward slash to the end of a malformed URL string. DE86950 Previously, the request would simply fail. LOGarc Client now properly recognizes a Spud Date entry from the previous session when using Advanced Search. Previously, you had to modify the dates in the latest session for them to be honored by the current search. Leading and trailing spaces are now truncated in the UWIs of Canadian well searches. Previously, truncation was only working for U.S. searches. DE72538 DE

6 Area Description Defect Number When using Full Search against both Oracle and SQL accounts, results now appear for both regardless of which database is listed first. Previously, results only appeared for both when Oracle was listed before SQL. Revised the database column definition so that regardless of whether the database value is one or two digits, a value is returned for entries between 1 and 9. Previously, if the database was one digit, nothing was returned because LOGarc Client uses two digits in the LSD field. DE91639 DE89779 Removed the parameter field for Is Null and Is Not Null DE66320 operators. Previously, because these options were active, you could type in the field, but that content was lost when you clicked Add to Expression. The Retrieve Profile check boxes (Digital Logs, Rasters, and Well Files) are all selected by default each time you launch LOGarc Client. DE93793 Utilities Data is only downloaded for records you selected in each of the specific tabs (Digital Logs, Rasters, and Well Files). The record remains selected by default for the duration of the current session. Retrieval is no longer failing when the Trim Deeper, Trim Midpoint, or Trim Shallower options are selected and Web Service debug mode is enabled by an Administrator. Depth values are converted between Imperial and metric independent of the curve data. Clicking the Admin tab or the Table Alias child tab previously created an unhandled exception when not configured to connect to a database. This is now fixed. An exception occurred when attempting to save Table Alias changes before adding database credentials. Now a warning message appears instead of an exception. Changed the label on the Start button to display Cancel when using the Oneline Import tab so that users are aware a load is underway, and so that they can cancel the load should it cease to function. When Canada is specified on the Load Configuration tab of the Utilities Configure window, the 16-digit UWI is read from the LAS file without error. DE32214 DE17677 DE74076, DE95779 DE82822 DE87405 DE94084 Previously, there was an issue loading LAS files if the load configuration was set to U.S. and then switched to Canada. 6

7 Area Description Defect Number When wells are loaded, Utilities verifies that the UWI or API DE22857, exists in the LOGarc well table, and further verifies that well ID DE96726 matches the country mode. Previously, Canadian LAS files were loaded into the wrong UWI folder structure when the load configuration was set to U.S. 14 digit. Parameter records in the Curve Parameters table are now deleted when all curves in a given UWI are removed. NTS files are now saved according to a file folder structure that more closely matches the order of the NTS naming convention. When retrieving an LAS file from the Digital Logs tab the well_name field now includes records from only the well name column. Previously, some well number information was also included if that data was available in the database. Standardized column sizes to be consistent between SQL and Oracle databases. Settings made in the Load Configuration tab are remembered when you leave the Load Configuration tab. While using the Delete Wells tabs (Curves, Rasters, Well File tabs), pressing Delete button without anything selected erroneously reports that items were deleted, which is not the case.
