Revised 11/17/11 Installing a remote access Measure 2011 license consists of four steps: 1) downloadd the Measure setup and update files, 2) install Measure 20111 on the server, 3) update Measure 2011 on the server, and 4) register your serial numbers. You will receive two serial numbers by e mail. The serial number that begins with either MSR7-STD or MSR7-SMP is used to register the copy of Measure installed on the server. The serial number that begins with MSR7-RMT is used the time you access Measure remotely. Please note: the instructions below are specifically for Internet Explorer 9. If you are using a different browser or a different version of Internet Explorer, some of the windows and prompts may differ. Download Measure Setup and Update Files 1. You will receive two e mails from Measure Support with instructions and the serial numbers for your Measure 2011 remote access license. It is best to open these e mails on your server. M MEASUR E 2011 Remote Access License Installation first Open the e mail with the Subject: Your Flooring Store, here is your RFMS Measure 2011 STANDARD/SIMPLE FOR REMOTE serial number (2 of 2) Click on the first link in the e mail to go to the installation instructions posted on the Measure Forum.
2 2. When the Measure Forum post appears, review the important information provided, then scroll down until you get to Step 1 for downloading Measure. Click on the link for the Setup_1125.exe file to download the Measure setup file to your server. 3. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the Measure setup file. Click on the down arrow at the right edge of the Save button. We recommend saving the setup file to your Desktop to make it easy to find. 4. Click on Save as in the menu that appears. When the Save As dialog box appears, click on Desktop on the left hand side of the dialog box, then click on the Save button.
3 5. Go back to the Measure Forum post, and click on the link for the Update_1235.exe file. 6. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the Measure update file. Click on the down arrow at the right edge of the Save button. We recommend saving the update file to your Desktop to make it easy to find. 7. Click on Save as in the menu that appears. When the Save As dialog box appears, click on Desktop on the left hand side of the dialog box, then click on the Save button.
4 Install Measuree 2011 1. After the Measuree setup and update files have finished downloading, go back to the installation instructions on the Measure Forum and scroll down to Step 2. Click on the link for the minimum system requirements to verify that your server meets those requirements 2. Double click on the Setup_1125.exe file you have downloaded to your Desktop. 3. Choose your setup language and click on the OK button.
5 4. The InstallShield Wizard will extract the files needed for the installation. Wait for this to finish. 5. After the installation files have been extracted, the Welcomee screen will appear for the Measure InstallShield Wizard. Click on the Next button. 6. Review the License Agreement when it appears and, if desired, click on the Print button to maintain a printed copy of the agreement. Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click on the Next button. 7. Click on the Install button to begin installing Measure on your server.
6 8. After the installation has completed, click on the Finish button to exit the wizard. Update Measure 2011 1. Now that Measure has been installed, you need to install the critical update. Double file on your Desktop. click on the Update_1235.exee 2. If you are asked to confirm installing the Measure update, click on the Run button.
7 3. The InstallShield Wizard will extract the files needed for installing the update. Wait for this to finish. 4. After the installation files have been extracted, the Welcome screen will appear for the Measure Update InstallShield Wizard. Click on the Update button to begin installing the Measure update. 5. The InstallShield Wizard will install the Measure update. When the update is complete, click on the Finish button to exit the wizard. Register Your Serial Numbers 1. Go back to the license e mail you received with the Subject: Your Flooring Store, here is your RFMS Measure 2011 STANDARD/SIMPLE FOR REMOTE serial number (2 of 2) Highlight the serial number that begins MSR7-STD or MSR-SMP. Right click on the highlighted serial number and choose Copy.
8 2. The Measure installation will place a Measure 2011 shortcut on the Desktop of your server. Double click on it to start Measure 2011 for the first time. 3. The Measure Registration dialog box will appear. Enter your name and organization name. The serial number you copied from your license e mail should automatically appear. If it doesn t, right click in the Serial Number box and choose Paste. Make sure your Internet connection is active and click on the Register button. 4. Measure will open on your server. You can close it.
9 5. Now try to access Measure remotely. Using your remote connection, open the e mail with the Subject: Your Flooring Store, here is your RFMS Measure 2011 REMOTE ACCESS STANDARD/SIMPLE serial number (1 of 2) Highlight the serial number that begins MSR7-RMT. Right click on the highlighted serial number and choose Copy. 6. Start Measure over your remote connection. When the Measure Registration dialog box appears, enter your name and organization name. The serial number you copied from your license e mail should automatically appear. If it doesn t, right click in the Serial Number box and choose Paste. Click on the Register button. 7. Measure will open on the workstation. You will only need to register your serial numbers for Measure once.
