Joyce 126 AV System Instructions

Before you use the AV Cart Under no circumstances should the AV cart be moved. Moving the cart will likely result in the disconnection and probable damage to plugs, cables and internet connections. Locate the AV Panel ( panel ) on the cart. AV Panel

Powering up the System When powering up the system, be patient, it takes a minute to power up all of the components. 1. To start, tap the panel touch screen. 2. Next, press the POWER button on the panel. 3. On the panel screen, select Projector Power On. This will turn on the projector, and automatically drop down the projection screen. 4. Press the COMPUTER button located on the left side of the touch panel, and the PC desktop will appear on the projection screen within a few seconds. It is not necessary to press any other buttons on the panel. 4 1 3 2

The Cart PC The power to the PC should remain on at all times. Do not turn the PC off when you are finished using it. Power to the PC is not controlled by the panel, so if the PC has been turned off, it must be turned on manually.

Volume Control 1. The VOL UP, VOL DWN and MUTE buttons on the right side of the panel control the volume for all the devices except for the microphones. 2. The volume indicator on the right side of the touch screen. Move to indicate changes in volume. 2 1

USB connectivity If your lecture documents are stored on a flash drive, there are 3 USB ports on the AV Cart and Monitor. One is located within the cable cubby on top of the AV Cart. For best results use this port. Two more are located on the side of the Computer monitor. Plug your flash drive into one of these ports, and wait for the dialog box to appear on the computer monitor.

Hooking up and viewing a laptop On the top on the AV cart is a VGA cable. This cable will allow connectivity from the users personal laptop to the projector. 1. Plug the VGA cable securely into the VGA port located on the laptop. 2. Plug the audio cable into the headphone port on the laptop 3. Press the LAPTOP button located on the left side of the panel to show your laptop image on the projector screen. 3 2 1

Laptop Trouble shooting If the laptop image doesn t appear on the projector screen, check the cable to ensure that it is securely plugged into your laptop. It is possible that there may be an issue with the resolution setting on your laptop. Please contact the Help Desk to ensure that your laptop has the correct (1024x768) setting.

DVD/VCR and Blu Ray Players 1. To access the DVD/VCR combo, press the DVD/VCR button on the left side of the panel. 2. To view the Blu Ray player, press the BLU RAY button. 3. You may switch between VCR and DVD. 4. An indicator at the top of the screen will indicate which device you are using. 5. Controls on the touch panel display allow the user to Power on the as well as Pause, Play, and Stop device media. 1 2 4 5 3

Microphones Housed in the drawer on the left side of the AV cart there is a wireless microphone and a lapel microphone 1. To access the volume control of the microphones, press the MICS button on the left side of the panel. 2. This will open the volume control screen which will allow the user to adjust the volume to his or her preference. Please note that this volume control is for the microphones ONLY. This does not control the volume to the other devices. 1 2

Wireless Mouse and Keyboard The AV cart includes a Wireless Mouse and Keyboard. Instructors may use the mouse and keyboard from anywhere in the room. To use the mouse wirelessly, PRESS and HOLD the trigger button on the bottom on the mouse. Please replace the mouse on the charger when you are finished using it

Powering off the system 1. Press the POWER button on the panel 2. Select Projector Power Off to turn off the projector and bring up the screen. Please note that it does take some time for the system to power off. Please be patient before starting up the system again. 2 1
