2 Collins Classroom Center THIS ROOM IS EQUIPPED WITH: COMPUTER PC Laptop Connection EQUIPMENT OVERVIEW VIDEO Video Projector Document Camera AUDIO Wall Speakers Stereo Receiver Wireless Presenter DVD Player VCR AV SWITCH A/V Switch Extron MediaLink Controller DVD Player VCR 1
3 PROJECTOR Panasonic PT-F300 Projector This room is equipped with an Extron MediaLink system that allows users to quickly and easily switch between different sources. The inputs on the switch are clearly indicated and will correspond to the device you wish to use. To operate the projector: 1.) Press the Display ON button on the Extron switch. (The ON button will blink for 30 seconds while the system warms up.) 2.) Select the appropriate video device using the INPUT buttons on the Extron switch. 3.) Adjust the VOLUME knob on the Extron switch to reach the desired level. On/Off Input Buttons Volume Knob 2
4 AUDIO SYSTEM Built-In Stereo Audio Amplifier To adjust audio settings: Like video settings, the audio for all devices may be adjusted with the volume controls on the Extron controller. To adjust audio settings: 1.) Adjust the VOLUME knob on the Extron controller to reach the desired level. Volume Knob 3
5 DOCUMENT CAMERA Samsung SDP-860 Document Camera To use the document camera: 1.) Make sure the document camera and the projector are turned ON. 2.) Use the COMPUTER input buttons on the projector s remote to select the document camera as the video source. 4
6 DVD/VCR Panasonic AG2560 VCR To use the VCR: 1.) Make sure the VCR and MediaLink system are turned ON. 2.) Use the VCR button on the MediaLink controller to select the VCR as the video source. Pioneer DV-320-K DVD Player 1.) Make sure the DVD Player and MediaLink system are turned ON. 2.) Use the DVD button on the MediaLink controller to select the VCR as the video source. 5
7 COMPUTER HP Computer To use the computer: 1.) LOGON to the computer using your UWSP username and password. 2) To display the computer s screen on the projector, press the ON button on the Extron Controller. After the ON button stops flashing, press the PC button on the Extron Controller to select the computer as the audio/video source. Unlocking a computer: If the PC s screen indicates that it has been locked by another user, you can unlock the system by restarting it. To restart a locked computer: 1.) Press and hold the POWER button on the computer until it shuts down (typically, you will need to hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds before the sequence will begin). 2.) Press the power button again to restart the PC. When the login screen appears, enter your UWSP username and password. NOTE TO USERS: Please remember to logoff the computer when finished. After 60 minutes of inactivity, classroom computers will automatically lock, preventing subsequent users from logging on. If a computer has accidentally been left locked by another user, please see the section on Unlocking a Computer above. 6
8 LAPTOP VGA Laptop Connection To connect a laptop computer: 1.) Plug the VGA cable into the VGA port on your laptop and, if available, plug the 1/8 stereo cable into your laptop s headphone jack. If your laptop does not have a VGA port, contact Tech Support for further assistance. Also, some laptops require proper configuration to utilize an external display. To configure your laptop accordingly, please refer to the instructions provided by your manufacturer. 2) Turn on the projector by pressing the Display ON button on the Extron controller. (See page 2.) 3.) Use the Laptop button on the Extron controller to select the laptop as the source. Connecting to the Internet: Many classrooms are equipped with an Ethernet cable allowing for wired internet access. It is advisable to use a wired connection whenever possible. Wireless internet connections are also available in most classrooms. For instructions on configuring your laptop, contact Help Desk at x4375 or visit VGA Cable 7
