A well-defined target market is the first element to a marketing strategy. The target market and the marketing mix variables of product, place (distribution), promotion and price are the two elements of a marketing mix strategy that determine the success of a product in the marketplace. It has various memory sizes. The Dell Streak packaging is made from Bamboo. Bamboo packaging helps reduce environmental impact and ensures a healthier planet. The box has Dell Logo printed onto it. It has a image of the device printed onto the front showing of some of its features. It also has a bamboo cushion inside the box to protect the phone from drops or bumps. I brainstormed a few ideas and had a page full of features that people wanted in a phone. I also looked at existing competitors products and concepts the manufactures had come up with. 07 th Jan 2011 07 th Jan 2011 45 mins 315 mins Ellis thinks this is the best idea. Ellis thinks it is a good idea but could have a camera. The shape could be changed so it will be more ergonomic to hold and will look more modern. He thinks the stand could have a brighter colour than grey. Dale thinks this is the best idea. Dale thinks it is a good idea but could have a camera. The shape could be changed to a curved rectangle to make it look more modern. He thinks the Keyring looks a bit plain and could be a different shape. I think this is my best idea as it has a very modern design and the features are quite good. All the products have the same colour scheme of black, grey and red which makes the products look professional and eye-catching. The phone has some cool features like a slide out keyboard and touch screen. The phone stand rotates 360 so you can see it from different angles in the shop on the shelf. I agree with their comments. I think the phone should be curved rather than a rectangle. I also think the phone should have a camera. The stand should be a brighter colour and the Keyring could be a better shape than a rectangle.
12 th Jan 2011 12 th Jan 2010 60 minutes 375mins This is the original design as you can see it doesn t look that good. The keyboard doesn't slide all the way out. Also the phone looks a bit plain and is missing buttons This is the second design as you can see it looks a bit better. The keyboard slide all the way out. And it has the keys engraved. Also the phone looks a bit better with the added orange button and I added a charging port on the back. These are the two stands I created to make the stand look more professional.

2nd March 2011 11 th March 2011 60 minutes 495mins At the start the phone was designed as a net but the plastic was unbendable so I had to design it in layers and glue it together. Here are the layers I used to create the phone. Before Bending. The acrylic is 3mm thick. After Bending you can see that the plastic bulges and is not 90 degrees so I cannot use this for my product. Here is a real screen. Which uses two layers. Here is my screen which uses one layer and looks very similar This is a screen grab of my CAD File I also added a 1mm contour around fitting pieces which made the pieces fit without glue.

16 th March2011 16 th March 2010 30 minutes 585 mins This is my stand. I added a piece of mirror acrylic to the bottom so you can see the phone better. I also added a sticker of what the phone looks like turned on to the stand. Screen Grab of Stickers CAD File. This is the original slide out keyboard mechanisms. I used a pin and a cut of slot. The pin was too big to fit in between two pieces of acrylic. It added extra thickness. This is the updated mechanism what I decided to do was glue two bits of acrylic on the back of the keyboard that fit into the slider. This added no extra thickness. And allowed the keyboard to slide fully out. Screen Grab of Keyboard Mechanism CAD File. I also added a 1mm contour around fitting pieces which made the pieces fit without glue.

1 rd April 2011 4 th 2010 30 minutes 770mins I matched all the specifications I wrote down at the start of the project. All the Essential points were included as well as some of the desirable. I made a few changes to my project along the way which made the product work better. The Phone must have a touch screen to allow easier interaction with the device. It must have a slide out keyboard. It also must have a name on the back. The Point of Sale Stand must have HTC s logo on the front. It must hold the phone in a certain way and be small enough to fit on a counter or shelf. It needs to be cleaned easily. The Key ring must have HTC s logo on it. follow the phone s colour scheme.
1 rd April 2011 4 th May 2010 30 minutes 800mins I think most of my ideas were good and appealing to my target audience but I could have changed a few things to get a better product and make it look more professional. For example: Stand: I could have added a integrated phone holder into the stand instead of making it as a separate piece which would have resulted in a more professional looking stand. I could have added some LED s to the stand to make it more appealing and it could make more customers look at the product. The stand could have been a lot bigger to hold the phones without making the phones look huge. Phone: I could of added some led's and sounds into the phone to make it more realistic. I could have also made it look like it actually turns on e.g. A light that lights up. I could have made the keys on the keyboard actually feel like they work instead of a engraved picture. I could of added a bigger screen to make it better than touch screen phones on the market now. Manufacturing Improvements: I could have sanded the edges down on the layers of the phone to make it look like one layer instead of using a few. This is the stand as you can see the phones are cramped together. So I made two stands for the phone.
