EA to EA3 Enertrols rugged EA and EA 3 Series heavy industrial adjustable shock absorbers are available to handle your most demanding linear deceleration applications. Energy capacity ratings are high with wide effective weight ranges, resulting in the capability of handling a wider range of applications and increases in velocity. The units are easily adjusted by means of a 5/16 inch ( mm) hex socket adjuster located at the bottom of the outer body. These adjustable shock absorbers are maintenance free and are available self-contained or for use with an external air/oil tank. Features include: an internal accumulator and threaded mounting brackets, easily adaptable to the front or rear of the outer body. Applications include: foundry, steel, marine, lumber, and other heavy equipment industries. Technical Data Impact velocity range: 0.33 to 16.5 ft/sec (0.1 to 5 m/sec) Operating temperature: 10 to 150 F (-1 to 66 C) Mechanical stop: Must be provided.09 inch (.3 mm) before end of stroke. Oil type: ATF Materials: Steel body with black oxide finish. Piston rod high tensile steel, hardened and chrome plated. spring zinc plated. To avoid reducing heat dissipation, do not paint. Adjustment: After installation of the shock absorber, cycle the machine a number of times. Turn the hex socket adjuster against the scale marked 0 to 9, until optimum deceleration is achieved (i.e. smooth deceleration throughout the stroke). Hard impact at the start of stroke-turn adjuster toward 9. Hard set-down at the end of stroke-turn adjuster toward 0.
