Time 9h50-10h10 Coffee Break PLENARY SESSION 1: OVERVIEW OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS AND ENHACING REGIONAL COOPERATION IN REDUCING DISASTER RISK Interative Panel: Successful cases of apllyng dvanced technologies in disaster prevention and control will be prsented by 5-6 economies to share their policies and experiences in research, development and application of IT for disaster prevention and control, followed by discussion and question. The Philippines presents the APEC Framework for Action on Disaster Risk Reduction and implementation, by focusing on ICT application in response to typhoons, tsunami, landslide and protection of the coastal areas 4. ASEAN presents coordination on promoting science & technology and Disaster Prevention and Control in the ASEAN region. 5. Japan presents recent experiences regarding application of science & technology in response to natural disasters 6. Peru/Thailand/Chinese Taipei presents ICT infrastructure in response to typhoon.
