Overview of Features New Look The look of Midas EPoS has been updated to give it a more up to date feel and a more uniformed layout. Assistant Pin Entry The Pin Entry can be positioned Left, Right or Centered by configuring in EPoS Manger (Back Office). Extra Touch Buttons The Touch Panel now takes up the full height of the Screen allowing for a total of 56 buttons with a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Left Handed Assistants Assistants can be configured to be Left handed users in which case the touch Panel will appear on the left hand side of the screen instead of the right. Function Buttons on Touch Panel As well as configuring Touch buttons to be Groups and Products, there is now the ability to define a button as a function button by selecting from a drop down list. These functions are features that were traditionally found in Other Transactions, Back Office, and Keyboard Shortcuts as well as some completely new features. Methods of Payment in Touch Panel Methods of Payment can also now be added to the Touch Panel. When these are clicked from the sales screen it takes the assistant to the payment screen and immediately initiates the chosen method of payment. Items go straight into list Items go straight into the list as they are sold, instead of waiting in the bottom area, this eliminates the need to press\click Enter to send it to the list. Items editable by selecting As items go straight into the list altering Quantity, Applying Line discounts, Price Overides and line cancels can be done by selecting the item in the list and clicking the relevant button. The last item sold is automatically selected so the assistant does not need to select the item first. New Search Functionality There is new search functionality which finds items as you type, therefore narrowing the search results down the more criteria you type in. Back Office -> EPoS Manager Back Office has now been renamed and has been reorganised so that settings are in a more logical place, settings are located using a treeview type control from the left hand side of the screen. Extra Customer Information Customer Information Retrievable from Midas (Head Office) from three new tabs on Customer Loyalty Screen:- Accounts, Purchase History, Deposits. Account Handling Account Information retrieved from Midas (Head Office) and linked to Loyalty Customer Database. Setting to switch on/off in Epos Manager \Settings\Customer\Accounts\Get Account Information from Midas. Deposit Handling Deposit Information stored centrally on Midas (Head Office) and linked to Loyalty Customer Database. Setting to switch on/off in Epos Manager \Settings\Finance\Deposits\Get Deposit Details from Midas. Stock Enquires Local Stock Lookup/Edit and Other Branch Stock retrieve information from Midas (Head Office). Both will use Midas Live if Setting in Epos Manager\Settings\System\Till System Options\Comms\Enable Midas Live is switched on. Touch Configuration Previously Function Button captions were un editable, it is now possible to edit the caption. Payment Screen Loyalty Button Caption The Loyalty Button Caption is now configurable in Epos Manager\Settings\Customer\Loyalty\Settings Customer Loyalty Prompt The prompt for customer Loaylty can now be switched on or off. Epos Manager\Settings\Customer\Loyalty\Settings Search For Refunds Searching for refunds is now also done via Midas Live on the search screen two additional fields for branch and till have been added. This functionality can be switched on in Epos Manager\Settings\System\System Options\General\Search Centrally. 2

Deposit Handling When creating a new Deposit customer information for the Deposit is now also tied into the Loyalty Customer Database. Prior to completion of the deposit the user will be prompted for customer information using the normal loyalty search screen. If a customer has already been found by clicking the Customer (Loyalty) then the user will not be prompted twice. Recalled Deposits are now retrieved directly from Midas, when Recall Deposit is chosen from Other Transactions (or via a function button) a search prompt will be shown. If the user clicks on the find customer button the normal Loyalty customer search can be used to find a particular customer the user can fill in as many details about the Deposit they are searching for as they can and then click search. A message to Midas is then sent with this search criteria in it, Midas will return all matching results. When EPoS receives the reply from Midas it displays the deposits in the same deposit screen used prior to Midas Live. 15

Stock Enquires The Deposit can then be recalled in the same way as before. When adding payments the original Branch and Till number are sent to Midas as well so that Midas can then amend the correct deposit. Local Stock Lookup/Edit and Other Branch Stock will now retrieve information from Midas via Midas Live. 16

Account Handling When paying on Account or making a payment to an Account, EPoS now uses the same Customer Database as Loyalty and therefore the same search screen. If a customer has already been found by clicking the Customer (Loyalty) then the user will not be prompted twice. Account Balances and Limits are then requested directly from Midas instead of the local database. In order for Account information to be dealt with in this way Get Account Information from Midas needs switching on in Midas Epos Manager\Settings\Customer\Accounts. 20

Touch Configuration Previously Function Button captions were not editable; it is now possible to edit the caption. 24
