Release builds McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint (McAfee DLP Endpoint) client for Microsoft Windows build 9.4.103.4 This release was developed for use with: McAfee epolicy Orchestrator (McAfee epo ) 4.6.9, 5.1.3, and 5.3.1 When running McAfee epo in Microsoft Internet Explorer, use Internet Explorer 10.0 or later. McAfee Agent for Windows 4.8 Patch 3 and 5.0.2 McAfee Data Loss Prevention extension for McAfee epo 9.4.100.15 Purpose This hotfix maintains FIPS compliance by replacing a deprecated random number generation algorithm. 1
It also resolves three issues: one with user exclusion in device rules, the second related to ODB$ tag loss, and the third with an intermittent email release from quarantine dialog. Supported systems The McAfee DLP Endpoint client for Microsoft Windows in this release was developed for use with the following Microsoft operating systems. FIPS compliance To maintain FIPS compliance, a random number generation algorithm that was deprecated on 31 Dec 2015 was replaced. Resolved issues These issues are resolved in this release of the product. For a list of issues fixed in earlier releases, see the Release Notes for the specific release. When upgrading McAfee DLP Endpoint 9.3.x to 9.4.x, ODB$ tags are now preserved. (1113129) When releasing emails from quarantine, challenge-response pop-up messages now appear consistently the operation does not occasionally lock up. (1113292) A user group assignment for a device rule defined as ANY user AND NOT <selected AD group> now correctly excludes only the selected group. (1113292 ) Installation instructions The McAfee DLP extension is installed in McAfee epo. The McAfee DLP Endpoint client is available in two versions, one for Microsoft Windows and one for OS X computers. The recommended installation of the client software uses the McAfee epo infrastructure for deployment to the endpoint computers. You can also deploy McAfee DLP Endpoint client software to your network using third party enterprise software deployment tools.
