1 Eclipse 6.2 Conversion 1) Determine your Eclipse Workstation & Server Location Complete the steps below before you continue, they will be used in future conversion steps. You are responsible for knowing the location of the Eclipse directory on all computers. You are also responsible for loading all future Eclipse updates to the correct location on each computer. Location A) Determine your Eclipse 6.1 Workstation location: Eclipse 6.1 Workstation Location: Location B) Determine the Eclipse Server location on the server machine: To find this correctly you must be at or logged into the server machine. We will be installing programs to this location. This is the location of installing future 6.2 Eclipse server updates. Eclipse Server Location: Location C) Determine the Server location from a Workstation (non-server machine): You will need this when installing Eclipse 6.2 workstation You must know the letter that represents the shared network drive. Server Location from a Workstation: 2) Download The Eclipse 6.2 Server Software This step MUST be completed at the server if you have a server/workstation. If you have a dedicated server complete this step either at the server or while logged into the server. 1. Close all programs on this computer. 2. Log onto our website: www.nasasoft.com. 3. Click Login and login with your agency s user name and password. 4. Click Updated Software. 5. Click Eclipse Server Update 6.2.xxxx. 6. C lick on Save As and the Save As box appears, select Desktop and click Save on the bottom right. The file transfer should begin.
2 You MUST finish the conversion process once you start Everyone MUST log out of Eclipse at this point 3) Backup Eclipse Data Files Using the Eclipse 6.1 backup You must run the EclipseBackup.exe from the server before starting the conversion. 1. Locate the Eclipse directory on the server (Location B on page 1) 2. Click on EclipseBackup.exe 3. Click on Backup Database. You should receive a message stating that the backup has ran successfully. If you receive any other message, contact NASA Support at 320-352- 1801 before proceeding. ***It is highly recommended that this backup file be renamed so it does not get overwritten the next time the EclipseBackup.exe runs. 4) Uninstall Eclipse 6.1 Workstation on the Server 1. Open the Control Panel and Programs and Features. 2. Click on EclipseWorkstation61 in the list. 3. Click the Uninstall Button or Change/Remove, click Remove, click Next thru the subsequent windows. 4. Click Finish to close out. 5. If you received a message that not all programs could close during the uninstall, you MUST reboot the computer. 5) Install Eclipse Server 6.2 1. Double click EclipseServer62 on your Desktop, downloaded in Step 2 on page 1. The InstallShield Wizard will start. 2. Click the Next when the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for EclipseServer62 displays. 3. The Choose Destination Location window will display. IF the location to Install the EclipseServer62 to: matches your Eclipse Server Location on the server machine (Location B), click the Next button. IF NOT, click Change to select the correct drive letter and path to match the Eclipse Server Location on the server machine (Location B), click OK and Next. 4. When the Ready to Install the Program window displays, click Install. 5. Click Finish when prompted.
3 6) Install 6.2 Workstation on the Server 1. Double click on Computer. Go to the Eclipse Server Location on the server machine (Location B). In the Eclipse folder double click on the Setups folder and then Workstation62.exe. The Install will verify each computer has Microsoft.Net Framework 4.5.1 or higher. If the.net Framework is old, this step will upgrade.net Framework and will delay the install of the workstation on Step 2. 2. The InstallShield Wizard will start. When prompted click the Next button. 3. The Default location C:\Eclipse is HIGHLY recommended. 4. The Choose Destination Location window will show. If you must load Eclipse workstation to a different location then click Change to find Eclipse 6.2 Workstation Location (Location A). After finding the correct directory, click OK, click Next. 5. When the Ready to Install the Program window displays, click Install. 6. Click Finish when prompted. 7) Run Eclipse 6.2 Conversion If the Eclipse server does not have Eclipse6.2 Workstation loaded on it, this step must be run from a workstation. 1. Double click Computer. Browse to where you installed the Eclipse Workstation in Step 5. 2. In the Eclipse folder, double click on the Bin Folder. 3. Double click the file called Eclipse 6.2 Conversion. 4. When the Eclipse 6.2 Conversion window appears, click Start Conversion. 5. When the conversion to 6.2 is completed, you will receive a message Conversion Completed. If you have Eclipse Logons without a Response Code assigned, you will receive the Missing Doc Logon Dialog. In this step you will need to assign a Logon to Docs. (This step should have been completed in 1b of the Pre-Conversion Instructions.)
4 If you have ResponseNames that are the same for the first 15 characters, you will receive the following message box. This will give you the ability to change the ResponseName field. Once you click on the ResponseName field it will update the New Logon that will automatically be created for that Responsibility Code. This logon will be marked as inactive by default. ***In the example below, you may want to leave one at George Reallylo, but change the other one to G Reallylong. Each New Logon must be unique. 8) Delete Workstation61.exe 1. Double click on Computer. Go to the Eclipse Server Location on the server machine (Location B). In the Eclipse folder, double click the Setups folder. Right click on Workstation61.exe, click Delete.
5 9) Log into Eclipse 6.2 on the Server 1. Find the Eclipse 6.2 icon on your Desktop and log in like you did prior to the conversion. The first time you log in, the login process will take a little longer than normal. 2. You are now on Eclipse 6.2!! 3. IF after clicking on the Eclipse 6.2 icon on your desktop you get the message below, Click on Browse, and browse to your Server Location from the Workstation (Location C). Click on the Nasaversion.dat file, and then Click Open. Click Save. 10) Uninstall Eclipse 6.1, and Install the Eclipse 6.2 Workstation on all remaining workstations 1. Follow Step 3, as shown above, to uninstall Eclipse 6.1 Workstation, if you received a message that not all programs could close during the uninstall process, you MUST reboot the computer. 2. Follow Step 5 to install the Eclipse 6.2 Workstation. 3. Follow Step 8 to log into Eclipse for the first time with your User Name and Password from Eclipse 6.1. 4. IF you are prompted for your Preferred PDF Program, select your program from the list and Click OK. 5. IF you are prompted for your Word Processor, select your program from the list and Click OK 6. You are now on Eclipse 6.2!! 7. Once logged in Click on Setup, User Preferences to set up your Email Client.
6 11) Run Data Verification Report This must be completed in each agency if multi- agency. Run the Data Verification Utility in Eclipse to check the integrity of the database. 1. Open Eclipse, click the Reports button from the button bar. 2. Click the Utilities tab. 3. Click the Data Verification button. 4. Click the Create button and Eclipse checks for errors. IF Eclipse displays a No Errors Found window the database is ok. Click OK, Cancel and Close Eclipse. You may proceed with the conversion. IF Eclipse displays a Data Verification Report, print the report by clicking File and Print. Contact NASA Customer Support immediately. You may not continue with the 6.2 Conversion until you contact NASA Customer Support. Should you experience any problems logging into Eclipse for the first time, contact NASA Support.
