ITUAM 6.1.1 Release Notes New Features New Features 0 ITUAM 6.1.1 provides the following: New ITUAM data collectors. ITUAM 6.1.1 includes nine new data collectors as described in New Data s. InstallShield fix for ITUAM for AIX installations. Some ITUAM 6.1 installations on AIX systems were affected by a defect in InstallShield. Macrovision has corrected this defect and the fix has been incorporated into ITUAM 6.1.1. New Data s 0 ITUAM Data s read usage metering data that is generated by applications and produce a common output file that integrates with ITUAM. ITUAM Data s are available for Windows and UNIX /Linux systems and collect data from many applications and operating systems. ITUAM 6.1.1 contains data collectors for the following applications and systems: AIX Advanced Accounting Server VIO. The AIX Advanced Accounting data collector gathers data from Advanced Accounting data files and produces log files. There is a separate log file for each of the supported record types in the data files, including record type 10, Server VIO interval record. Useful metrics that are collected from the Server VIO log file include server partition number, server unit number, and AIX VIO server bytes in and out. WebSphere HTTP Server. The WebSphere HTTP Server data collector collects data that is contained in a WebSphere HTTP Server access log. Useful metrics that are collected from this log include the number of Apache Web server hits and the number of bytes transferred from the Web server by user ID and requesting IP address. WebSphere Extended Deployment (XD) Fine-Grained Power Consumption. The WebSphere XD Fine-Grained Power Consumption data collector collects data that is contained in FineGrainedPowerConsumptionStatsCache.log file. Useful metrics that are collected from this log file include work and power consumption. WebSphere XD Server Power Consumption Statistics. The WebSphere XD Server Power Consumption data collector collects data that is contained in ServerPowerConsumptionStatsCache.log file. Useful metrics that are collected from this log file include work and power consumption. IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). The TSM data collector collects data contained in the TSM database. Useful metrics that are collected from this database include total archive, backup, and space management in usage. IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center (TPC). The TPC data collector collects data that is contained in a log file produced by the TPC system. Because the TPC collector can collect data from many types of TPC log files, the collector job file provides a flexible format for specifying the metrics that you want to collect. 4 IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager (ITUAM) Release Notes
ITUAM 6.1.1 Release Notes System Requirements IBM z/vm. The z/vm data collector runs on a z/vm system and produces CSR files that are processed by ITUAM. The CSR files are sent via FTP from the system running the z/vm data collector to the ITUAM system. Useful metrics that are collected from the z/vm system include connect time, CPU time, virtual SIOs, virtual cards read and punched, and temporary disk space. SAP. The SAP data collector collects data that is contained in a SAP Transaction Profile report. Useful metrics that are collected from this report include report or transaction name, background job, number of steps, and transaction database time. For more information about these collectors, refer to the IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager Data s for Microsoft Windows User s Guide and IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager Data s for UNIX and Linux User s Guide. System Requirements 0 For complete system requirements for ITUAM 6.1.1, refer to the IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager Administrator s Guide. Installing ITUAM New Installations 0 The ITUAM application contains the following key components: ITUAM Administrator. ITUAM Administrator is the administration tool for the ITUAM system. This Windows-based GUI application allows the system administrator and ITUAM administrators to configure and maintain the information that is contained in the database, such as rates, users and groups, clients, system configuration settings, and processing and reporting settings. ITUAM Processing Engine. ITUAM Processing Engine is a fast, efficient data processing engine that is capable of processing and applying business rules to large volumes of data. ITUAM Processing Engine can be run on UNIX, Linux, or Windows systems. The engine is available as a Java-based engine for UNIX and Linux systems or as a COMbased engine for Window systems. ITUAM Data s. See the description in New Data s on page 4. ITUAM Administrator and the Windows-based Processing Engine and data collectors are provided in the installation files described in ITUAM Installation Files for Windows on page 6. To run the installation files, refer to Chapter 2 of the IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager Administrator s Guide. The UNIX/Linux-based Processing Engine and data collectors are provided in the installation files described in ITUAM Installation Files for UNIX and Linux on page 7. To run the installation files, refer to Chapter 3 of the IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager Administrator s Guide. IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager (ITUAM) Release Notes 5

ITUAM 6.1.1 Release Notes Upgrading From ITUAM 6.1 to 6.1.1 Upgrading From ITUAM 6.1 to 6.1.1 0 All new data collectors and the InstallShield fix for the AIX installations are in the Base (collector package 1). To upgrade to from ITUAM 6.1 to 6.1.1, install the Base only (see page 6 and page 7 for the installation file names by system). The ITUAM Base and the all other collector packages other than package 1 have not been modified since the 6.1 release. Upgrading From CIMS Server 4.x to ITUAM 6.1.1 0 ITUAM 6.1.1 contains the components that were part of the CIMS Server product in addition to new features that were released in ITUAM 6.1 (see page 14). There are separate installation files for the ITUAM Base (formerly CIMS Server) and for the collector packages (formerly CIMS Data s). See ITUAM Installation Files for Windows on page 6. Note Before you begin the upgrade, back up the CIMS Server database and the folder that contains your CIMS Server installation (usually the CIMSLab folder). For more information about upgrading from CIMS Server to ITUAM 6.1.1, contact your IBM representative. Choosing a New Installation Path (Optional) 0 When you run the ITUAM installation files, the files are installed to the folder that contains your CIMS Server 4.x files unless you specify another path. If you accepted the default path when you installed CIMS Server 4.x, the installation path that is displayed is...program Files\CIMSLab. You can continue to use your current installation path or you can use the new path,...program Files\IBM\ITUAM. To use a new path, do the following: 1 During the upgrade to ITUAM, change the install path to C:\Program Files\IBM\ITUAM. (Change the drive as applicable.) 2 Copy the following folders and any files that you have customized (such as custom job files or scripts) from the CIMSLab folder to the ITUAM folder. The subdirectory structure is the same for the CIMSLab and ITUAM folders....admin\dbobjects\custom...server\report<type>\custom...web\custom...web\cimsreporting\cimsparameters\cimscomponents\custom 3 Start ITUAM Administrator and double-click Configuration Information. 4 In the Configuration dialog box, change all paths to the correct path (for example, the report paths, the path to the Processes folder, and so on).
