Introduction Installation will be carried out two parts: 1. Install Supporting Software 2. Install Application Install QTD and Runtime Crystal Reports 2017, Quality Training Systems 3
A. SQL Database The QTD software use Windows Authentication to grant users access to the QTD database. By utilizing Active Directory users can be assigned to different QTD roles. Installation package and script(s) for QTD are packaged in the Release Folder. The QTD script should be executed against the database. The script number for QTD should match the version number of the application being installed. Scripts packaged in this release: QTSScriptv10.2.41.x.sql QTSScriptv11.1.x.sql 2012Triggers.02.sql TestStatisticScript.sql Execute Scripts Important: Customers upgrading QTD from version 10.2 or lower versions must make a backup of existing database and save the backup in an easily accessible location 1. Execute Script. 1.1 Login to SQL Management Studio, Open all the above Scripts 1.2 Execute Script on QTD Database. 1.2.1 First time Installations: Create a new Database (ensure the new database name doesn t have spaces) & Restore the QTS starter file from the.bak file (downloaded separately) prior to executing scripts. 1.2.2 Upgrading Installations:! Users Upgrading from QTD versions lower than 9.2 may need to run additional reports. Please contact QTS support for assistance! Execute scripts on your current QTD Database in the ordered specified below: i. 2012Triggers.02.sql (SQL server 2012 and 2014 users only) ii. QTSScriptv10.2.41.x.sql iii. QTSScriptv11.1.x.sql iv. TestStatisticScript.sql (only uses with both EMP and TDT should run this script) Note: Customers upgrading from Version 10.2 to the latest version of 11.1 will need to run the QTSScriptv10.2.41.x.sql script. If customers are currently using a version of 11.1, the QTSScriptv10.2.41.x.sql script is not required 1.3 Look for Query Executed Successfully message at the bottom of the screen. 1.4 If you see Query completed with errors message, confirm that the correct Database was selected prior to executing the scripts.! Users in SQL server versions 2012 or above will need to run 2012Triggers.02.sql script packaged in the Release folder additionally. 2017, Quality Training Systems 5
B. Application Installation Download latest version QTD 11.1 from website. Click on link http://www.qualitytrainingsystems.com/ First time users should create a new login by clicking on this link https://www.qualitytrainingsystems.com/registration.php Once your account is activated you will have access to Downloads folder. Browse to Software, Downloads and Resources tab and click on to download latest QTD version. Click on the link QTD User Guide to download latest User Guide. Navigate to 11.1 folder and extract the zipped files by right clicking on the zip file and selecting Extract, install the QTD as follows: Install.NET Framework 1. Install.NET Framework 4.5 or above Install Microsoft Report Viewer 2. Install Microsoft Report Viewer 2.1 In the Release folder, Browse to Microsoft_Report_Viewer_2010 folder 2.2 Double click on ReportViewer.exe file & follow the installation wizard to install it. Install Crystal Reports 3. Install Crystal Reports 3.1 In the Release folder, Browse to Crystal Reports folder 3.2 Double click on CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_x.msi file. 3.3 If operating system is 64-bit Windows, install CRRuntime_64bit_13_0_x.msi in addition to the 32-bit version 3.4 Follow the Installation wizard to install Crystal Reports Install QTD 4. Install Version 11.1.x 4.1 Double click on setup.exe 4.2 Click Next. 4.3 Click Next to accept the default folder. 4.4 At the Confirm Installation screen, click Next to install. When complete, an Installation Complete screen displays: Click Close. A new copy of QTS folder will be created under C:\ Program Files\ QTS 2017, Quality Training Systems 6
4.5 Double click on the QTD Next shortcut on Desktop. You may get Unable to Connect error. This is normal. Click OK. 4.6 Open File Database Connection Manager in application menu. Enter the SQL Server path and the QTD Database name and click save 5. QTD Deluxe and Simulator Scenario Users only Install QTD Extras Package 5.1 Browse to Release, QTD_Extras_1.1.x folder 5.2 Double click on setup.exe 5.3 Click Next. Click Next to accept the default folder. 5.4 At the Confirm Installation screen, click Next to install. When complete, an Installation Complete screen displays: Click Close. A new copy of QTS_Extras folder will be created under C:\ Program Files (x86)\ QTS 5.5 Open QTD application and in menu go to Extras Set Path 5.6 Click on Browse button and browse to the location where Extras is installed 5.7 Click Save and Close. 6. Update User Guide 6.1 Download and save latest User Guide from website. A copy of User Guide is also in the release folder. 6.2 Browse to the folder where QTD is installed. Typically this location is C:\Program Files (x86)\qts\qts 6.3 Open Files folder within the installed QTS folder. Copy and Paste the User Guide pdf in the Files folder.! When starting the Quality Training Database after the first installation, if you get the message Unable to connect to database, check that the server & database names were entered exactly as they are recorded in SQL Server.
