Mendeley Citation Management Software
Why should I care about citation Management software? Have you ever written a paper with a bibliography or reference section? Did you type up the section word for word? Did you lose points for formatting or spelling errors? Did you find it to be long, tedious, AND boring? Then you need citation management software!!!

Mendeley reads metadata encrypted in files. Sometimes information is encrypted in a way that Mendeley doesn t understand (yet). Then Mendeley tags that item as Needs Review to make it easy for you to know which items may have imported incorrectly. Isn t that nice?
Click on Needs Review to see the paper(s) that need review.
You can double click on the item to open the PDF in a new window.
Here is the citation info. You can look up the item using any of these options.
Identifiers DOI = Digital Object ID; typically found with citation info on publication or at bottom of 1 st or 2 nd page. PMID = PubMed ID specific Identifier in PubMed database found at bottom of abstract (in database) ArXiv ID = Author ID, not always available
No DOI!
No DOI!
You can also easily type in the information since the PDF and the citation info can be side by side.
It shows you how to format the names with last name first.
All 3 names are added.
All the information is entered.
When everything is correct, click on Details are Correct.
YAY!
