Other sizes are available; the larger PD2, PD3 and PD4, and the smaller PDJ. Sheet 1 of 5 MAXIMUM WEIGHT 15KG FUNCTION An electric projector drop that lowers a projector from within a ceiling void. Allows a projector as tall as 190mm to fit in a ceiling void of only 210mm high. Views showing the mechanism dropping from flush in ceiling down to lowered position. Extra drop option available. For when projector needs to be lowered that little bit extra. Available in white satin finish with brushed aluminium. SUITABILITY Requires a ceiling void height of only 210mm and a minimum distance of 580mm between joists. Will also fit in the 575 x 575 opening found in office suspended ceilings. SPECIFYING Check height of ceiling void and distance between joists. Check ceiling height to screen height. Check if tilt function is usable. Maximum projector size is 400mm Wide, 460mm Long & 190mm High. These dimensions must include connectors and allowance for air vents etc. WARNING It is the responsiblity of the installer to warn all potential end users of the dangers of interfering with mechanisms during operation Tilt feature allows for differences between height of screen and height of projector. Ideal for rooms with very high ceilings. IMPORTANT Mechanisms which lift or move weights need to be checked on a yearlybasis for any damage which may result in an accident CONTROL Supplied with basic infrared remote control. Can be learnt by many learning remotes. Also has switch control so can be operated by relays, switches, Crestron / AMX or Lutron systems.
Cut out size is 580mm x 580mm projector drop is 570mm x 570mm (PD2 is 50mm wider and 50mm deeper) 580mm Sheet 2 of 5 Requires painted ceiling above or panel Fixing holes front and back for screwing into beams Projector drop inserted like a ceiling speaker. A lip around the bottom neatly covers the cut line in the plaster board. A control box measuring 200mm x 100mm x 30mm needs to be located in an easily accessible location. A four cour mains cable and a three core low voltage cable (such as CAT5) needs to be run from the control box to the mechanism. Timber Joists Plaster Cables exit here An infrared sensor, with 1500mm long cable, is connected to the control box. Switch control is also provided. The control box can also control an electrc screen. (Standard four core mains type)
Sheet 3 of 5 Middle tilt setting shown left Projector base plate still always finishes flush to the ceiling 4 pre-defined tilt settings available. USES Tilt adjustment can be very useful. By undoing and repositioning one bolt on each side, a significant tilt angle can be acheived. This is useful when using the PD1 in rooms with high ceilings where the projector is a lot higher than the screen being viewed. Using a tilt setting means the projector does not need to be lowered as far down into the room. Meaning no need for extra drop mechanisms. KEYSTONE Using the tilt adjustment means the projector image must be altered using the keystone function on the projector. Below shows how using the tilt settings can reduce the drop that is needed. Tilt adjustment is possible through simply altering the angle of the slider channel. This only requires moving one bolt on each side. The greater the horizontal distance between the projector and the screen, the greater effect the tilt settings will have.
Sheet 4 of 5 SUITABILITY The extra drop option is available for rooms which have a large height difference between the ceiling and the viewing screen. A tilt option can not be used on a Extra Drop PD1 DROP The extra drop mechanism provides a vertical drop of about 700mm. Extra drop option shown left. Extra drop mechanisms include one extra set of scissor arms. The extra long drop mechanism provides a vertical drop of about 940mm. Compared to the 400mm standard vertical drop.
