Sustainable production is a significant contributor to energy and resource efficiency and it has taken on an important role in the social discourse. The high level of value creation in worldwide industrial production requires the secured availability and an optimal use of raw materials and energy resources. Research and industrial developments are key driving forces in this aim. A conference during the large international production engineering trade fair EMO 2011 presents an excellent platform to discuss the latest discoveries and development results in this field. Strategies of the German and European society, leading industries and the science community will be presented. We are forward looking to seeing you there.
