As the industry standard, Brevard Public Schools Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs use Adobe, Microsoft Office, Autodesk, and QuickBooks software and assessments to ensure our students success in Web Design, New Media Technology, Digital Design, Accounting, Drafting, Technology Support Services, Administration Office Specialist, International Business, Technical Design and Communications Technology. We plan to expand the use of these assessments to Marketing, Fashion Technology Design, Digital Media/Multimedia Design and Game/Simulation/Animation Visual Design. The district approved industry certifications for CTE programs using these assessments are offered under the Universal District License Model. The BPS strategic plan includes the Outcome Indicator 1.3.3 The percent of BPS students enrolled in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program of study who participate in the approved industry certification assessment and achieve a passing score on the assessment will increase annually, OR will be maintained at 91% or above. Certiport, an industry certification provider and the sole source provider of the Universal District License package, provides performance-based, online-exams and practice exams for the official Adobe, Microsoft, Autodesk, and QuickBooks products used in our CTE classrooms. The attached purchase request to Certiport is for a district wide assessment license for all high schools and middle schools and well as providing access to the IC3 Spark assessment to 5 th and 6 th graders. The license provides the opportunity for students and teachers to have unlimited access to all certification exams, practice exams, training materials and customer support for 1 year from date of purchase. This purchase makes it possible for 13 different CTE programs to meet the BPS strategic outcome indicator. The certifications included in this purchase are on the FL DOE Industry Certification Funding list, therefore they have a positive impact on school grade and earn bonus funding for the program. In the 2013-14 school year over 2,100 of these certifications were earned by our students. If purchased separately, limited Adobe assessments would be $46,670, Microsoft assessments would be $112,200, Autodesk assessments would be approximately $15,000, which is well over the $157,454 Universal District price. Credit is being
awarded for $46,670 for the recent Adobe assessment package as well as the Microsoft assessment package purchased for Viera High in the amount of $3,350, bringing the final cost to $107,434. This license provides access to all Adobe, Microsoft, Autodesk, and QuickBooks assessments to all high school and middle school students. The purchase includes 3,749 student inventory packs which includes six exams in each student pack. In addition, all 5 th and 6 th graders will have access to the IC3 assessment.
