The PulsePro Transcription module provides a method of creating and storing patient transcription documents within the PulsePro database. Use the Dictation functions to preview and listen to wave files recorded by the providers. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DICTATION FEATURE The following are some requirements which must be configured prior to using the dictation functions in the Transcription module: A special foot pedal can be configured to work with the Transcription Dictation Voice to Text requires the Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition product. ABOUT TRANSCRIBE DICTATION This function is used for offices that use a Transcriber to transcribe information from.wav files. The purpose is to use the necessary equipment (headset and foot pedal to start/stop) to listen to the.wav file and type the information directly into PulsePro Transcription. If needed, locate a particular document using the filter options provided. To listen to a recording, click to select the record in the list, then use the audio controls on the window to control the playback of the recording. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 10 of 21

The second option for transcribing recorded dictation is to use the speech recognition software, Dragon Naturally Speaking. This third party software, once configured, recognizes and types the dictation automatically as it is played. The audio controls become active. From this point, play the document. As the recording plays, the transcription will appear in the preview pane.
