1 When a payment is received on a claim, insurance companies typically include and Explanation of Benefits, or EOB, to detail the manner in which the claim was paid. The EOB is then recorded in the system. The Scanning module of PulsePro can be used to attach an image of the EOB documentation to the record in the system. 2 To begin, it is assumed that you have opened the PulsePro application and are logged in with the appropriate security and privileges to complete this task and the workstation has a scanner connected and configured. 4 The EOB Scanning window opens consisting of a toolbar, a series of fields which can be used to filter the records shown. The list pane displays the EOB images that have been previously scanned and saved. The detail pane will display the insurance providers to which the selected EOB was assigned. 20 Using the Open dialog box, browse to the location of the scanned image files and select the desired file either by double-clicking the file name, or by selecting the file and clicking the Open button. 36 If the document requires editing, use the options provided at the top of the window. For instance, if the document was scanned sideways, use the rotation buttons to turn the image to the left or right. When finished, click the Done button to save the image.
