1. Unpack The EPA1000 a. Check the packing list to make sure all of the requested equipment was received. b. Position near the connection point to be tested (be sure the EPA1000 is positioned in an area where it will not be dropped or interfered with). EPA1000 2. Power down YOUR system and turn off the power at the main circuit breaker. Top of EPA1000 3. Power Up The EPA1000 a. Plug in the supplied power cord into a 120V, 50/60 Hz outlet, or use the breakout style power cord of the RxMS A/C adapter (if present). (If an extension cord is needed, it must be a 3-prong, grounded extension cord). b. Plug the female end into the power supply of the EPA1000. A/C Adapter
Run Voltage Leads Connect Banana Leads 4. Connect The Voltage Leads For Hardwired Setup: a. Connect the L1, L2 and L3 voltage leads (alligator clip or strip) to the main circuit breaker. Connect the N lead to the Neutral bar (if present), and the G lead to the main chassis or the Ground bar. b. Connect the other end of the voltage leads (right-angle banana plug) into their corresponding color-coded ports on the front panel of the EPA1000. For A/C Adapter Setup: a. If you are using an A/C adapter provided by RxMS, unplug your equipment from the wall or from the Power Conditioner. b. Connect Current Probes to Panel A/C Adapter 5. Connect The Current Probes a. Please note that connecting the current probes is a crucial part of the data gathering process. Please make sure you connect them to ensure that all supporting data is gathered. b. Clamp the current probes around L1, L2, L3, N and G (or all applicable phases) and make sure that there is only one wire clamped in each current probe. c. If you are using an A/C adapter provided by RxMS, please refer to the photos on the left to ensure that you are clamping the current probes to the correct location. d. Make sure that each current clamp is connected to the correct wire and that the direction of the arrow on the clamp is pointing toward your load/system. e. Plug the other end of the current probes into their corresponding ports on the front panel of the EPA1000 (to the right of the color-coded voltage ports). Connect Current Probes
Rx Temp/Hum Probe Located on Front Panel of EPA1000 6. Connect The Temp/Hum Probe a.
