Paragraph 1 MatiCard installation Paragraph 1 MatiCard installation Before installing Matica printers driver you must install the MatiCard software. Go to the Matica User CD start page and click Install MatiCard. In the MatiCard InstallShield Wizard window, click Next. Chica 4 Install Guide Rev. 2.05 Page 4/52
Paragraph 1 MatiCard installation In the following wizard window confirm the installation clicking Next. In the following wizard windows accept the license terms and click Next. Paragraph 2 Chica 4 USB Driver installation Go to C:\Windows\inf folder and check if a usbprint.inf file is present, because some printers during the installation renames this file usbprint.in. If it s so, change the name adding the final letter f or the Matica Printer won t work. Connect the USB cable to the PC and to the Printer. Select the Matica Chica 10.0.10.2 and click Next. Paragraph 3 Chica 4 Ethernet configuration Paragraph 3 Chica4 Ethernet configuration Power on the Matica Chica 4 Printer. Check that the ribbon and a plastic card will be present into the Printer. Push and hold the Printer button until it blinks, then release it. The Chica 4 will print a Test Card; read the Printer IP Address on the card. If the Address is not suitable with the current PC configuration (i.e. 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1), follow the procedure shown in Paragraph 4. Change the PC IP Address on the same range of the Printer Address; be sure that the first three sets of numbers of the address will be the same between PC and Printer and the fourth set of numbers will be different. Connect the Printer to the PC using a Hub, a Switch or an Ethernet crossed cable, depending on the LAN configuration. Open the Internet Browser and enter in the address bar the Printer IP Address. Set the Ethernet configuration as needed and click on Apply Changes. Disconnect the Ethernet cable e restore the original IP Address of the PC. Connect the PC and the Printer to the LAN. Paragraph 4 Ethernet configuration without Test Card Paragraph 4 Ethernet configuration without Test Card If the IP Address printed on the Test Card is not suitable with the current PC configuration (i.e. 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1), perform the USB Driver installation shown in Paragraph 2. When finished, go to the PC Printers folder, right click the Matica Chica printer and select the Printing Preferences option. In the Matica Chica Printing Preferences window, select the Tools tab. Paragraph 4 Ethernet configuration without Test Card Select the Matica Chica into the Discuss with combo box. Digit into the Command Box the syntax Pip; followed by the IP Address needed, then press Enter and into the Answer box will be displayed OK. Digit into the Command Box the syntax Penm; followed by the Subnet Mask needed, then press Enter and into the Answer box will be displayed OK. Click Exit and then, in the Preferences window, click Apply. Disconnect the USB cable and power off the Chica 4 Printer. Delete the USB Driver from the PC Printers folder. Connect the Printer to the PC using a Hub, a Switch or a Ethernet crossed cable, depending on the LAN configuration. Power on the Printer and install the Ethernet Driver as shown in Paragraph 5. Enter the Matica Chica 4 serial number, written on the Printer Test Card, into the related box of the Search printer by serial number area. Click Start. In the Magnetic Encoder window, select the Coercivity and click Set Coercivity; to save the Encoder settings click OK and then Apply. In the MatiCard Graphic window click Preferences from the Options menu. In the Preferences window, select the Matica Chica Printer Type and, if you have connected the printer to an USB port, check mark the USB Connection. To save the preferences click Apply. Download the SDK MiFare for Chica and Dupla file from the website address specified in the SDK document attached to the Printer. Extract the SDK_MiFare_Chica&Dupla.zip file. Finally click Apply. Insert a contactless card into the Printer Feeder. In the MatiCard Graphic window, click the Print button. Click the Print Current button in the Print Options window. Close the Reader Utility program and the Printer will eject the contactless card. This verification works only for the MiFare and doesn t perform any printing. Please refer to the ReaderDLL_v3.3.0.zip file in the Reader Utility folder to develop the customer personalization application. Paragraph 10 Chica 4 Smart Card verification Copy the MFC42D.DLL and MSVCRTD.DLL files in the COMPULSORY_UPDATE subfolder of the Smart Card SDK Samples folder and paste them into the system32 folder of the PC Operating System. Connect the interface cable to the Printer serial port. Install the customer Smart Card Reader; the Reader must be PCSC compatible. Insert the Chip Card Adapter into the Reader (the reader shown in the picture below is a sample). Insert a Smart Card into the Printer Feeder. Chica 4 Install Guide Rev. 2.05 Page 44/52

Into the Smart Card Definition window, select the DLL option in the Interface file format combo box, then click the Application Dll button and select the \MultiChip\Samples\PCSC_TestMUTE\Debug\pc_sc_test_mute.dll file of the Smart Card SDK Samples folder.
