As in previous years and studies, D.I.S. has consulted with all its front end sponsors as well as non-sponsoring companies, in an effort to be comprehensive regarding brands and types and other factors in the questionnaire. D.I.S. now employs a hybrid methodology including: 1) telephone calls and interviews with professional respondents and 2) Invitations to potential respondents to visit an on-line site to complete an identical questionnaire. 3) All gathered data is combined into tables, charts are created, analysis derived and forecasts made. Raw gathered data is then weighted and projected to the number of sites and individuals that populate the professional cinematography markets, globally, thereby illustrating the Total Addressable Market (TAM). 15
The questionnaire is designed to inventory installed brands, models and stations by product category. Data entry and computer tabulation is then done using a network of personal computers running the proprietary tabulation program. 16
The design of Professional Camcorders World TM 2014 was based on previous surveys by D.I.S. and on the 32-year record that D.I.S. Consulting Corporation has had in conducting custom, largescale multi-client and proprietary enduser and dealer market research in professional imaging and communications, worldwide, since 1982. In all, D.I.S. Consulting have served more than 1,600 industry clients, in 550+ studies and custom projects. D.I.S. is the strategic partner of the NAB Show and China Infomedia. 17
