HICKORY CREEK TOWN HALL, POLICE, and MUNICIPAL COURT FACILITY NEEDS AS- SESSMENT, SPACE PROGRAM, MASTER PLAN and BUILDING Date: February 2006 Size: 10,800 SF Cost: $1,965,000 Client: Jeff Price, Mayor 940-497-2528 Hickory Creek, TX Project includes comprehensive Needs Assessment, Programming, Master Planning and Design of this 10,800 square foot facility. Master Planning included the Town Hall and the allocation of the Town s future facilities for a Recreation Center, Department of Public Safety and the Department of Public Works. Also included, was the allocation of a retention pond and the continuation of the Ronald Reagan Drive through the Town s 7.98 acre site. The design of the Town Hall included three offices and was programmed and configured to include a courtroom with supporting offices and the Police Department, thus allowing three departments to work efficiently under one roof. Major challenges encountered and successfully addressed during the process included a site with considerable hill and slopes which challenged site development and project cost. The completed project provided an aesthetically pleasant design which represents a small town in growth, but in harmony with a rural community. Many of our staff are cross trained in multiple disciplines, such as, L.E.E.D. or sustainable design, the International Building Codes, the Texas Accessibility Standards, and technology. Providing the expertise in-house allows WHJ to have greater control in meeting schedules and ensuring the information provided is prtinent to the project. Duplication of Effort: Don Greer, Jim Wiginton, and Flint Britton have experience meeting with Clients, programming and planning facilities. The overlap of expertise ensures that there is always an experienced staff member working on Your project regardless of what may occur in the office; ie. illness, emergency meetings, etc. Building Information Modeling: WHJ utilizes Autodesk Revit, a Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, which allows the user to design in three dimensions. As such, the software is used to create 3-D views of interior spaces and exterior images of the design from any vantage point, thus allowing us to find design surprises prior to construction.
