Introduction Introduction This manual was designed to provide a better understanding of the Control Panel that comes installed on your Machine. Each page of the Display Module, as well as any adjustable values, will be described in detail. Contained within: 1. Part Identification of: Control Panel Valve Driver Display Module 2. Display Pages 3. Display Module Menu System 4. Parameter Adjustments 5. Troubleshooting Each Display Page is shown exactly as it is on the Machine. This should make it easier to follow along when troubleshooting issues in the field. Cautions & Warnings Warning: Before welding on the Machine, ensure that all connectors are disconnected from the control panel. Failure to do so could result in damage to the panel itself or its components. Warning: Disconnect all power before making any wiring connections to the control panel. Caution: Improper operation of these controls could cause damage to equipment. Do not allow anyone to operate this equipment before completely reading the manual. Caution: Electronic controls are intended as general purpose switches. They are not safety devices. Malfunctions may occur. Caution: Electronic products are used to initiate an operation where false operation could be dangerous. Point-of-operation guarding devices must be installed and maintained to meet OSHA and ANSI Machine safety standards. Their functionality is dependant on the page that is currently displayed. Display Module Display Pages Introduction This section covers the main Display Pages. A listing of every parameter displayed on each page as well as the unit of measure for those items will be provided. Contained within this section: Main Page The first page to be displayed when the system is powered up. Shows some key Engine Parameters. Engine Information Page Displays information related to the Machine s Engine Hydraulic Information Page Displays information provided by various transducers and sensors. Feed Control Page Displays parameters of the Machine s Feed Control System. Infeed Speeds Page Displays information related to the speed of the Bed Chain and Yoke Wheel as well as how those speeds are affected by Engine Speed. Engine Fan Information Page Displays information related to the Machine s Engine Fan. Main Page Display Module Display Pages This is the first page to be displayed when the panel is powered up. While in the main Display Pages of the system, this page can be reached by pressing the OK button, the Escape button or scrolling through the pages using the UP/Down arrows. Contained within this page: Note: When the Low Belly Belt PSI option is turned on the control system will monitor the Belly Belt PSI and will prohibit infeed operation if the Belly Belt is not on. Display Module Display Pages Feed Control Page This page displays the parameters used to control the Machine s feed system. All settings can be adjusted for each grinding mode. It is important to note which grinding mode is selected before making adjustments. Infeed Speeds Page Display Module Display Pages This page shows information related to the speed of the Bed Chain and Yoke Wheel as well as how these are affected by Engine Speed. The Max Chain Speed and Max Yoke Speed are set using the remote control. Once a change has been made from the remote, this page (if not currently selected) will be displayed for a few seconds to provide feedback to the operator. The Actual Chain Speed and Actual Yoke Speed are the control values that have been calculated in relation to Engine Speed. The parameters contained within those pages will be provided along with a description and the values each parameter accepts. Yoke Bump Settings Page Performance Adjustment Pages The Yoke Bump Settings can be adjusted to modify the performance of the yoke during operation. Contained within this page: Parameter Description Values Yoke Bump Option Enables the Yoke Bump option for use during operation. On / Off This setting can be turned on or off in the field during Machine operation. Yoke Bump Up Enable Enables the Yoke Bump Up option. This option is used when the Engine rpms drop below a certain point. The yoke is raised momentarily to relieve the horsepower draw on the Engine thus allowing the rpms to recover. This option is on by default in the Green Waste and Regrind modes. 0 (Off) / 1 (On) Yoke Bump Up Duration Yoke Bump Down Enable Yoke Bump Down Duration Yoke Bump Down Reverse Count The length of time that the Yoke Bump Up operation lasts Enables the Yoke Bump Down option for use during operation. This option is used when the Engine rpms are above a certain point. The yoke is lowered momentarily to force more material into the mill. Backup Time The length of time that the feed will reverse, allowing Seconds (0-20) the Engine to recover to performance level and maintain consistent material output. AutoFeed On/Off Toggle the AutoFeed option on and off On / Off Auto Reverse Delay The length of time that the Machine will delay Seconds (0-10) before performing a reverse operation. This allows the Engine to recover, possibly preventing the Machine from having to reverse the feed system. Accessing the Menu Menu System The menu system can be accessed at any time by simply pressing the Menu button located in the lower right corner of the module. Once in the Main menu page the Function buttons can be used to access the different sub-menus. These sub-menus will be discussed in detail later in this section.
