CREATE A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT - GO TO HTTPS://SIGNUP.LIVE.COM/ 8
COMPLETE FORM AND SUBMIT DONE! You will be asked to enter the following: Contact information Desired Password for your Microsoft Account ( NOT your email password. Create a new password for your Microsoft Account). A PIN Code in the event you forget your password (NOT your banking ATM code). Your Birthday used to confirm you are over 18 If you object to Microsoft knowing your birth-year, you can edit this later. To Edit: Login to your account. Go to the PROFILE link. Under Contact info, click Edit. Now look for Birth date and clear the box for the year. Click Save. 9
Once you have created your account, you are prompted to check your email for a VERIFICATION message sent to you. You are to open it and reply to VERIFY your are have access to the registered email account. The verification will enhance account security and ensure access to all Microsoft related services. IF YOU ARE NOT PROMPTED AUTOMATICALLY TO VERIFIY YOUR ACCOUNT, YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF. Go to START, then RIGHT CLICK on your account name, click CHANGE ACCOUNT SETTINGS 10

Requires a high end depth perception web camera that uses infra red technology to see past facial hair or facial prosthetics to see the true structure of the face. ADVANCED MENU- (RIGHT CLICK ON START) The Right Mouse Click will display more options for just about everything in Windows 10. When you Right Click the START MENU, you get the ADVANCED MENU with familiar options for TASK MANAGER, CONTROL PANEL, and FILE EXPLORER Here is a Close-up View 15
TASKBAR MENU OPTIONS RIGHT CLICK Similarly, a right click on the TASK BAR will reveal an additional menu that pertains only to functions of the TASK BAR. Here is the close-up 16
SEARCH BOX LIVE DEMO The SEARCH BOX is located in the same box as CORTANA. Simply left click in the box and begin to type. The SEARCH BOX will begin to display the links to any program, folder, saved file, picture or video stored in your computer that matches your search words. There are even options to search the Web and the Store. 17

ACTION CENTER RIGHT SIDE OF TASKBAR The ACTION CENTER, also called the Notification Center, alerts you to important updates and information regarding apps you have installed. Such as Facebook, Twitter, Stocks & News. The bottom section offers quick access to tools pertaining to internet connectivity, tablet mode, screen contrast and more. 19 Live Demo
CORTANA PERSONAL ASSISTANT * Microsoft Account Cortana is the personal assistant for your Windows devices. She (or he) gives you the ability to organize your life and locate information that is unique to you. She can schedule appointment, send email, remind you of your task list an MUCH more. 20
TIP # 1 - CORTANA VOICE RECOGNITION By default, Cortana will respond to any voice. You can train Cortana to respond to only you. If you have multiple profiles, each can train Cortana to their voice. To activate Cortana. 1. Requires a Microsoft Account 2. Enable Cortana feature in Win10 21
Use Cortana settings to switch Cortana on or off. 1. Click in the Search box on your desktop. This will pop up the Cortana Window. 2. Select the Notebook icon on the left. From the new pop-out menu, click Settings 3. Slide the toggle button to the right to turn on. 4. Slide the toggle buttons to the left to turn off. 22

EDGE BROWSER- READING VIEW - PRINT Printing Keystroke Shortcut is CRTL + P This opens the printer Commands. You will notice that what you saw on the screen in Reading View is the only thing that will print on the page. Fantastic savings on printer ink and paper!! This site page reduced from 9 pages to 2 pages. 32
TIP # 2 - TAKE YOUR READING WITH YOU * Microsoft Account soft Edge is the only browser that lets you take notes, write, doodle, and highlight directly on webpages. Then you can sa t Make a web note to start adding to the page you're on. READING LIST in Microsoft Edge gives you a place to save articles or other content you want to read later, such as on the bus, over the weekend whenever you like. You'll see your reading list on all your Windows 10 devices when you sign in with a Microsoft account. 33 Live Demo

EDGE MENU OPTIONS Most Common features used from this menu are: Zoom Print (can also press CTRL + P to print) New InPrivate Window opens new browser window with strong privacy settings: does not store your browsing history, keystrokes, or searches. Recommended for financial web activity. 38

EMAIL SETTING OPTIONS Click the gear icon (settings) to open the left hand pane for the email options. From here you can: Manage the email accounts (add or remove, or edit settings) Add an automatic signature to your emails Setup Notifications for new mail arrival Configure email security settings and more. 45
THE APP STORE * Microsoft Account The STORE is a onestop shop for music, videos, games, and apps. Try out an app before you buy it, or pick a free one. Your Windows 10 apps will work on all your Windows 10 devices. 46
