1. Background With the development of technology and logistics shipping services, many people nowadays tend to shop things online because of its convenience and cheap price. However, with the increasing volume, how to manage all shipments with complete tracking info becomes a headache of online merchants as statistics show that most people like to know whereabouts of their orders. What's more? Magento only provides tracking info from four default carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL) which certainly cannot satisfy those sellers who use other shipping services. As a matter of fact, we already created a shipment tracking extension for merchants who are using Magento 1.x version. So this extension which is designated for Magento 2.x merchants can be an supplement to that. In light of all these, this shipment tracking extension is created. 2. Getting Started 2.1 About This Guide This guide describes background, requirements, installations and configurations of Trackingmore shipment tracking extension for Magento 2.x users. 2.2 Requirements a. Magento admin account. b. TrackingMore account. c. Technical Knowledge 2.3 Get The Extension You have two ways to get this extension. 1. Find the Trackingmore shipment tracking extension on Magento marketplace and click "Add to Cart". 2. Contact the developer to send you a zip file with the extension. 1
3. Installations Note: This extension must be installed based on some technical knowledge. If you lack this, please contact our developer to install it for you. Now let's get started! Step1. Find your Magento2 project file folder and locate to app>code category, create a new folder and name it "trackingmore". See Figure 1. Figure 1 Step2. Open "trackingmore" folder you created at step 1, create a new folder and name it "Detrack". See Figure 2. Figure 2 Step3. Open "Detrack" folder you created at step 2, add this shipment tracking extension you get. See Figure 3. 2
Figure 3 Step4. Unzip the extension under "Detrack" folder and then delete it. See Figure 4. Now you have added the original code of this shipment extension at your Magento2 project file folder. Next, let's continue installing this extension by running commands under Windows/Linux system. Figure 4 Step5. Find your Magento2 project file folder and locate to the project category. See Figure 5. Step6. Update Magento2 module and clear cache by executing below command. See Figure 6. Figure 6 Step7. Below module appears, which means you have installed this extension successfully! See Figure 7. Figure 7 4
4. Configurations To activate this extension, you need to finish some configurations first. 4.1 Configure "TrackingMore Settings" (Required) Step1. Go to Magento Admin Panel>Stores>Configuration. See Figure 8. Figure 8 Step2. Find "TrackingMore Settings" category and follow instructions to complete "API Key", enable "Status" and then click "Save Config". You can also make the default carriers disabled. This is optional. See Figure 9. 5
Figure 9 4.2 Configure "Carrier Settings" (Optional) This extension will select all its supported carriers by default. However, you can always change this setting by only selecting carriers that you use frequently at present. For example, if you only use DHL, UPS, FedEx, TNT, China EMS, China Post and Singapore Post to ship goods, then you can only enable those carriers. See Figure 10 and Figure 11. Figure 10 6
