Nanodyne Replacement Illuminator for Zeiss xioskop Microscope - Step 6. Route cables and connect pot cable. Photo 6a Photo 6b The cables will routed through the the small hole in the microscope as shown. The larger light colored connector must be inserted first, then the smaller black connector. e sure the heat shrink tubing is positioned as shown to protect the cable from the sharp edges of the hole. Photo 6d The plug for the intensity adjustment goes into the socket on the printed circuit board this far with no force when oriented correctly. The connector is not yet engaged. Photo 6e Push the plug into the socket using your fingernail. There will be a small snap as the connector engages. The required force should be quite small. Connect the cables to the illuminator circuit as shown in photo 6c. The connectors are keyed so they will only go together the correct way (as long as excessive force is not used). e sure they are fully inserted so they do not come loose later. See detail at right top. Photo 6c Note - The cables may be connected after installing the illuminator assembly (see next page) if that seems easier. Copyright 09 Nanodyne Measurement Systems.
