Step#1:Unpacking RemovethepaperonthebackofSUPER PIXEL.Donotremovethepaperonthefront untiltheendtoavoidscratches.laysuper PIXELfacedownonsomethingsoftlikethe rectangularfoampieceinpixel sshipping box. Step#2:MountPIXELBoard UsefouroftheincludedplasticrivetstomountthePIXELboard.IMPORTANT:Whenusing therivets,ensuretherivetispartiallyinsertedinthebasebeforesnappinginasshowninthis videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgbgb_yb7zm.ifyoudonotdothis,therivetwill notmountandattachcorrectly. Keeptheplasticrivetstogetherandthensnap It soptionaltousethewhitespacersbeneath intoplacewhenmounting thepixelboard
Step#3:MountOn/OffSwitch Usethetworemainingplasticrivetstomounttheon/offswitch Attachtheon/offswitchcabletothePIXELboard.Notethatallcableshaveanotchandwill onlyconnectthecorrectway.
Step#4:PluginRibbonCables Pluginthefourribboncablesintheorderbelow.Notetheribboncableshaveanotchandwill onlyfitoneway. Leavetheribboncablesasisfornow.You lluse thetiewrapsforaneaterinstallationattheend.
Step#5:PluginPowerCables Pluginpowercabletotheconnectionsas shownabove,positions1,2,and4,andplugin thebarreljacktothepixelboard. Pluginthesinglepowercable(4Bpin)fromthe PIXELboardtothepositionlabeled3. Foldtheribboncablesforaneaterlookanduse thetiewraps. Optional:Wrapthepowercablearoundthe mountingbracketsandtiewrapforacleaner installation.
FinishedInstallation You realldoneremovethepaperonthefrontofpixelandpluginthepowercabletothepower supplyandturnon. PIXEL sappsforandroid,pcwindows,mac,linux,raspberrypi/beagleboneblackareat http://ledpixelart.com/apps IMPORTANT:UponfirstlaunchingPIXEL sapp,gototheapp ssettingsandchangethepixel ModeltypefromPIXELtoSUPERPIXEL. IfusingBluetoothfromyourAndroidorWindowsPC,BluetoothpairtoPIXELusingcode:0000 beforelaunchingtheapps. BluetoothisnotsupportedonMac,Linux,andRaspberryPi/BeagleBoneBlackandinsteadyou llusb connectusingtheincludedusbabacable.
NotethattherewillbesomelagintheanimationsonSUPERPIXELwhenstreamingoverBluetooth. However,onceyouwriteananimation(longtapfromtheAndroidappordoubleclickingfromthe PC/Macapp),theanimationwillrunatnormalspeed.Onceyourdevicehasbeendisconnectedfrom PIXEL,thelastitemwrittenwillcontinuetoloopwhilePIXELisin standbalonemode. IfusingUSB,youmustmovethetoggleswitchtothe USB position.andthenifyoulatergobackto Bluetooth,don tforgettomovethetoggleswitchbacktothe Bluetooth position.
