General Operation Manual: HE 510 P Date: 09.03.007 Art.-No.: 31051 The digital display HE 510P operates as display, Set-Point device and as a slave I/O unit in Profibus DP networks. The digital display HE i510 P supports the cyclic data communication according to the PROFIBUS DP standard EN 50170. Optional services released later e.g. the acyclic data communication, are not supported by the display. With the PNO the following data were registered: ID number: 08C5 Model name: HE 510 P Name of the producer: HESCH Schroeder GmbH Output status: 1.00 Master/Slave: Slave GSD file: HE 08C5.GSD ( = x underline) The GSD file is loadable from the Internet www.hesch.de > products > field bus > HE510P > HE510P_GSD.zip. Supported Service Access Points (SAPs) Default SAP data exchange (Write_Read_Data) SAP56 reading of the inputs (Read_Inputs) SAP57 reading of the outputs (Read_Outputs) SAP58 control command at the DP Slave (Global_Control) SAP59 configuring data read (Get_Config) SAP60 read diagnostic information (Slave_Diagnosis) SAP61 parameter data transmit (Set_Param) SAP6 configuring data check (Check_Config) The HE 510P can be operated alternatively as process value display or as set-point device. Additionally the device is provided with three digital outputs and 4 digital inputs. If the device is used in the display mode further inputs are available. For the use as setpoint device an optional rotary pulse encoder is necessary. The device is suitable for the connection to 4 V DC. Pay attention to the correct value of the operating voltage. Otherwise the device will be destroyed. Safety Instructions ESD! contains electrostatically sensitive components Original packing protects against electrostatic discharge (ESD) Transporting only in the original packing during mounting rules for protection against ESD must be followed Connections Wiring must be conform to local standards (e.g. VDE 0100 in Germany)! Input leads must be kept separate from signal and mains leads! The protective earth must be connected to the relevant terminal The cable screening must be connected to the terminal for grounded measurement! Usage of twisted and screened input leads prevent stray electric interference! Connections must be made according to the connecting diagrams! Maintenance / Repair Instrument needs no particular maintenance. When opening the instrument live parts or terminals can be exposed. Before carrying out the instrument must be disconnected from all voltage sources. The instrument contains electrostatically sensitive components. The following work may be carried out only by trained, authorized persons. Fuse tripped: Cause must be determined and removed! Only fuses of the same type and current rating as the original fuse must be used. Page

Bus Termination Set-Point Device Bus Termination The bus line has to be terminated at both end with a correct resistance network. Short branch lines do not need a termination. Better than producing branch lines is the correct interconnection in the Profibus data line. The shield of the line is to be attached at the function earth (metal housing), however not at - [ ]. Software Configuration The device master file HE 08C5.gsd and the symbol icons had to be copied into the correct directory of the network setup programm. The Gsd - file is downloadable: www.hesch.de >Produkte >Feldbus >HE510P >HE510P_GSD.zip. The HE510P is listed under: "Other Fieldbus Devices". The representation depends on the used network configuration tool and may deviate from this representation. The desired functionality is selected and made known to the other network participants.
