1. Requirements: To perform firmware upload, ensure the following conditions are met: 1. Good USB connection between computer and MX350 controller s OIP throughout the firmware upload process. 2. Use computer with Win XP Operating System for MX350 firmware upload. 3. Remove all serial (5-port) and Ethernet communication. 4. Set ATS in Inhibit mode to prevent transfer. 5. Remove engine start signal from P-relay to prevent starting the generator. 6. If possible, connect UPS and apply 120V to UTA to avoid interruption of power to the controller. Refer to the UPS input of UTA for detail. 2. Install MX350 Setup Software This section assumes that user had downloaded and installed the MX350 Setup Software. Otherwise it can download from the link below - http://www.cccusi.com/gezc/software/mx350setup120.zip Be sure to use the latest Setup software (e.g. Rev1.2). MX350 Document AN10048 Page 3 of 39
3. Download MX350 Firmware 3.1 Click link to go to firmware download page http://www.cccusi.com/t-gezc.aspx Fig 3.1.1 3.2 Scroll to the section For Firmware:, right click the latest firmware version (e.g. MX350 Firmware Version 1.22). 3.3 Create a folder in C drive. E.g. C:\GEZC\MX350. Click the button Save to save the zip file in the folder. Fig 3.3.1 3.4 Right click on the zip file and select Extract All. Fig 3.4.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 5 of 39

4. Connect MX350 to Computer 4.1 Double click MX350 Setup Software shortcut on the desktop. Make sure MX350 controller is not connected to the computer yet. Fig 4.1.1 4.2 If there are other devices being setup in the software previously, please click Device Setup and delete all the sites. The reason for doing so is to avoid mistake of connecting to the wrong device when doing firmware download. MX350 Document AN10048 Page 9 of 39
4.3 Connect the USB cable between OIP and computer. Click Quick Connect. Accept the USB and interface device, and click Connect. Note: If this is the first time computer is connected to the MX350, refer to Appendix B Type A USB Mini USB Fig 4.3.1 Fig 4.3.2 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 10 of 39

5. Save settings from controller Perform this step to save a copy of the existing settings so that it can be used to write the settings back to the controller when new firmware is uploaded. 5.1. 5.2 In the Select Target Files window, click the button to select the directory to save the existing MX350 setting file. Browse directory button Fig 5.2.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 13 of 39
5.3.1 Navigate to C:\GEZC\MX350, then create a new folder Settings. Create a filename (e.g. MX350-1) and click Open to save the settings to C:\GEZC\MX350\Settings. Then click Receive. Fig 5.3.1 Fig 5.3.2 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 14 of 39

5.6 When read settings is completed, expand the Files tree at bottom left pane and one will see a file name MX350-1.m30 is saved under the directory C:\GEZC\MX350\Settings. Fig 5.6.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 16 of 39
6. Upload Firmware to controller 6.1 In left pane, expand Quick Connect Device, then expand Maintenace and double click Firmware Upload. Fig 6.1.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 17 of 39

6.16 In MX350 home screen, go to Diag > About to ensure new firmware is uploaded properly and showing the expected version. Fig 6.16.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 26 of 39
7. Upload previous settings to controller 7.1 In bottom left pane, left click MX350-1.m30 and then right click to select Duplicate Settings File. Fig 7.1.1 7.2 A copy of the MX350-1.m30 file is created. Select the duplicated copy. Right click to select Rename Settings File. Fig 7.2.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 27 of 39
7.3 Assign a new name to the file. Example: MX350-1-1. Click Rename to exit the pop up. Fig 7.3.1 7.4 In the File tree, MX350-1-1.m30 is now created. Select MX350-1-1.m30 and right click to select Edit Settings File Property. Fig 7.4.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 28 of 39

A. Troubleshoot Comport Perform this step to verify comport number if Setup Software cannot connect to the MX350 controller. A.1 Make sure controller is connected to the OIP via USB. Click Start and mouse over to Run and shown in figure below. Fig A.1.1 MX350 Document AN10048 Page 31 of 39
