Step 1: After downloading Skype (if you haven t already downloaded the program, click here), click left 2x on the Skype icon on the desktop. This will bring you to the sign in page of Skype.
Step 2: To create a Skype account, click left 1x on Don t have a Skype Name? this will bring you to the create a new account page. Step 3: Click left 1x in the text box below each category to type in your Full Name, Skype Name, Password and Email. If you would like to receive news and promotions, click left 1x in the box located below the Email box. Once you have completed all sections and if you agree to the User License Agreement, click left 1x on the I agree-create account icon.
Step 4: If your Skype Name is available, your account will be created. If not, you will be asked to create a new name or select an option that is available, as shown below. After selecting a new name, click left 1x on Create Account.
Step 5: Create your Skype profile by inserting any personal information you would like (all information on this page: country/region, city, birthday and phone number, is optional).
Once you have filled in all the information desired, click OK and you will be brought to the Skype Welcome Page.
Step 6: Learn more about how to use Skype by clicking left 1x on each of the 3 options- Learn how to make calls, check your sound works and find friends and import contacts. Each icon will bring you to a different page and will walk you through the different steps.
After completing each of the 3 welcome screen options, click left 1x on Get Started Now. You will then be brought to your Skype Profile.
Step 7: In order to edit your profile and change your picture, click left 1x on Skype Profile in the toolbar at the top of the page. Click any of these options in order to edit your profile.
Step 8: On the toolbar, click left 1x on Contacts to view the options for you contacts. To search for contacts, click left 1x in the Search box. Search Box
Step 9: Once you have found your friends and they have accepted your friend request you can begin making calls. To make a call, select the contact you would like to call. If they are online, the Skype icon next to their name will be green. Step 10: After selecting the contact you wish to call, click left 1x on Call, and if you would like to video call them, click left 1x on Video Call. The person you are calling will have to accept your call in order to talk to them.
Step 11: If someone is calling you, an options screen will appear on your computer and if your sound is on, you will hear the Skype ring tone sound. You can either choose to answer the call, answer the call with video, or ignore it. Step 12: Once you have accepted the call, you will see the following screen. This is what a Skype Video Call will look like. If you selected to answer the call without video, your profile picture will be the only thing the other person sees.
Step 13: As well as calling and video calling people you can also send messages to your contacts. In order to do this click left 1x on the contact you would like to message, and begin typing in the text box that appears on the right side of your screen as shown below. You can send messages during a call, or without making a call as well. If you have a message from someone, you will see the following Skype icon and message on your Contact List. What you will see on your toolbar in the lower right-hand corner of your computer.
