From this page you may navigate to other pages using either the tabs across the top of the page or the links at the bottom of the page. Avoid using the Class Roster and Grade Roster tabs and links on this page. 1. If the term you desire is not already displayed on the Faculty Center page, click the button to choose a different term. Once you have chosen a different term, click the button. 2. You may click on the button to navigate to your Textbook Summary page. Refer to section 2.1.1 below. 3. To view your final exam schedule, click the button. Please note that clicking this button simply takes you to the bottom of the My Schedule page, where you will see a table showing your final exam information (assuming it is after the 30 th day of classes). If you have a large enough computer monitor that your final exam information is visible without clicking the button, it may appear as if the button doesn t work when clicked. 4. The My Schedule page defaults to showing all classes you are teaching for the term as evidenced by the fact that the radio button is selected. You have the option of viewing only the classes you are teaching that have enrollment. To do this, click the radio button. 5. Beneath the previously mentioned radio buttons is an Icon Legend that illustrates the meaning of the icons displayed on the left-hand side of the My Teaching Schedule table. Included in the icon legend are icons for Class Roster, Grade Roster and Learning Management System (Blackboard). See the directions for these in the next step below. 6. Your Teaching Schedule for the term specified displays directly beneath the Icon Legend. To view one of your Class Rosters, click the Class Roster icon to the left of the class whose class roster you wish to view. Refer to the directions in section 2.1.2 below for more information. If grade rosters have been generated for the term, you will see Grade Roster icons next to the classes you are teaching that carry the grade. Click the Grade Roster icon to the left of the class whose grade roster you wish to view. Refer to the directions in section 2.1.3 below for more information. To access the log-in page for Blackboard, click one of the Learning Management System (Blackboard) icons. Refer to the directions in section 2.1.4 below for more information. 7. To view your Teaching Schedule in a weekly calendar format, click on the View Weekly Teaching Schedule link. For more information about this, refer to section 2.1.5 below. 8. Your Exam Schedule for the term specified displays directly beneath your Teaching Schedule. Please note that your final exam information will appear in Safari around the 30th day of classes. 9. If your Final Exam Schedule displays at the bottom of the page, you will also see a link entitled View Weekly Exam Schedule on which you may click to view your final exam schedule in a weekly calendar format. For more information about this, refer to section 2.1.6 below. 2.1.1 View Textbook Summary 3 1 3 2 1. You may use the or buttons to show all or no textbook detail. You may also click on the or icons next to each class to collapse or expand the information for any individual class. CS 9.2 Section 2-4

2. Click on the Printer Friendly Page link to access a printer friendly version of the information. It will print with everything expanded. Click on the Return to Textbook Summary link to close the window and return to the Textbook Summary page. 3. Click on the Return to Faculty Center link, the Faculty Center tab or the my schedule tab to return to the My Schedule page. Return to the directions for My Schedule in section 2.1 above. 2.1.2 Class Roster If you have not already accessed one of your Class Rosters, follow the directions in section 2.1 above to do so. 3 2 9 1 4 6 7 5 8 CS 9.2 Section 2-5

1. On the Class Roster page, identifying information about the class and section can be found in the top portion of the page. 2. To collapse or expand the information about the class, click the or button next to the class title. 3. For more information about the class, click on the class name link. When finished viewing the Class Detail page, click the Return to Class Roster link to return to the Class Roster page. 4. Notice how the Enrollment Status dropdown box can be changed to view those students who are on the wait list (Waiting status) or those who have been administratively Dropped. **Please note that Waiting and Dropped will be choices under the dropdown only if there is at least one student who meets that respective Enrollment Status.** A final choice is to view All students, which includes all students associated with the Class Roster no matter what their Enrollment Status is. 5. To see a photo of your student click on the photo icon, by default the setting is set as a link but you can choose include the photos in list. 6. By default the settings for photos is set to but you can choose to include the photos in your list 7. To download the roster into Microsoft Excel from the Class Roster page, click the Download to Excel button in the title bar. See the Caution note below. If the Class Roster does not open in Microsoft Excel, you may need to check your browser settings. This is explained in the Appendix of the MyCWU Faculty Guide Section 1 Getting Started document. When it does download, print it as you would any other Excel document. 8. If you choose not to download the roster to Excel to print it, you might try clicking on the Printer Friendly Version link. Then choose one of the following: o o o o If using Internet Explorer on a PC, highlight the class roster information, right click on it, and choose to Print, then choose Selection. If using Internet Explorer on a PC, highlight the class roster information, right click on it, and choose Print Preview, then choose As selected on screen from the dropdown menu at the top of the page. If using Firefox on a PC or Mac, highlight the class roster information, right click on it, and choose This Frame, then choose Print Frame. If using the Safari browser on a Mac, no additional actions are required. Simply send the document to print after clicking on the Printer Friendly Version link on the Class Roster page. When finished printing, you may need to click the Return link to return to the Class Roster page. 9. To view the class roster for a different class, click the button. Return to the directions for the My Schedule page in section 2.1 above. CS 9.2 Section 2-6

1. On the Grade Roster page, identifying information about the class and section can be found in the top portion of the page. 2. To send an e-mail to one student on the Grade Roster, click on the link for the student in the Name column. Doing so will display an e-mail box with the student s e-mail address in the To field. Proceed as you usually would to complete the e-mail message, and then send it. 5. To send an e-mail to ALL students on the Grade Roster, click the button beneath the Grade Roster or you can click the individual students you want. o If you select all click Notify All Students button: o If you select only some or one student click the Notify Selected Students button: o A pop out window will appear with all the email address of the students selected, enter your message in the Message Text box o If you do not wish to continue with the e-mail, click on the Return to Grade Roster link to return to the Grade Roster page. o If you do wish to continue with the process of sending an e-mail, click the button. 6. To download the roster into Microsoft Excel from the Grade Roster page, click on the Download link beneath the Grade Roster table. See the note below. CS 9.2 Section 2-8

If the Grade Roster does not open in Microsoft Excel, you may need to check your browser settings. If you choose not to download the roster to Excel to print it, you might try clicking on the Printer Friendly Version link. 2.1.3.1 Entering Grades 7 4 5 2 3, 4, 6 1 3, 4, 6 1. If the majority of the students on your Grade Roster are to receive the same grade, you can check the checkbox to the left of each respective student s name and then click the dropdown arrow to the left of the button to choose the appropriate grade. Then click the button. You ll notice that the Roster Grade column will populate with that same grade for each of the students selected. 2. To enter the rest of the students grades, click the dropdown arrow in the Roster Grade column and choose the appropriate grade from the dropdown menu for each student. CS 9.2 Section 2-10

Helpful Hint: Hit the Tab key multiple times to move to the next grade input field. 3. If you need to stop entering grades part way through the process, click the at the top or bottom of the page. button 4. When you return to finish entering grades, you may want to check the checkbox at the top of the page. Doing so will allow you to hide the students whose grades you have already entered. This is especially helpful for large class sections. If you do check this checkbox, you will need to click the button in order for it to take effect. By the same token, if this checkbox is checked and you wish to uncheck it, you will need to do so and then click the unchecking to take effect. button in order for the If there is a W grade entered for a student who has been attending, the student has been dropped for some reason but still may reinstate his/her classes. Please send the grade for this student to Registrar Services MS 7465 or fax 963-3022. The Roster Grade boxes will not gray out until the grades have been posted in a process run by the Registrar s Office multiple times during the day. Until the posting process is done, you may make changes to any of the grades you had previously entered and saved. If you need to change a grade after the grade posting process has been run, a Change of Grade form with appropriate signatures must be submitted to Registrar Services. 5. If you enter an Incomplete grade ( I ) and wish to enter details about the completion requirements for the student, click the Transcript Note tab and then refer to section 2.1.3.11 below. 6. Be sure to save your grades once they have been entered by clicking the at the top or bottom of the page. 7. When finished viewing and/or entering information on the Grade Roster page, click the button to enter grades for another class. 2.1.3.11 Entering Incomplete Detail If you have not already clicked the Transcript Note tab on the Grade Roster page, refer to the directions in section 2.1.3.1 above to do so before proceeding with the directions below. 1 1. Now click on the Note link to the right of the student whose Incomplete Detail information you would like to enter. CS 9.2 Section 2-12

2 3 4 6 5 2. On the Student Incomplete page, the Lapse Deadline will default to 1 year from the end of the term in which the Incomplete grade was earned. This should be changed to the date the Incomplete is to be finished. The date should not be later than the default date of one year. 3. The Lapse To Grade should not be changed. 4. Use the Comment field to enter any completion requirements for the course. 5. Click the button if you do not wish to save the information entered on the Student Incomplete page. 6. Click the button to save the information entered and return to the Transcript Note page. 7. On the Transcript Note page, click the or button to return to the Grade Roster page. 2.1.4 Learning Management Systems (Canvas) Canvas uses your MyCWU credentials to log you in. You can get there via the portal link or by clicking the LMS icon within My Schedule. CS 9.2 Section 2-14

2.1.5 View Weekly Teaching Schedule 8 2 1 3 4 5 6 8 7 1. If a blank Weekly Schedule appears, note the Show Week of date. Change it to the start of the week you wish to view, or click the button to choose the date you wish to enter in the field. 2. Another option would be to click the or button if the week for which you wish to view your Weekly Schedule falls immediately before or after the week that is currently displayed. 3. You may change the Start Time and/or End Time that will display in your Weekly Schedule. 4. If you do change the Show Week of, the Start Time and/or the End Time fields, you will need to click the button to the right of them to update the display. CS 9.2 Section 2-15

5. At the bottom of the page, you have more Display Options: whether or not to suffix, and as well as which days to show in your Weekly Schedule. All checkboxes for days of the week as well as default to being checked. 6. If you change the status of any of the checkboxes at the bottom of the page, click the button to the right of them. 7. Click on the Printer Friendly Page link for a printer friendly version of the information. It will print with everything expanded. Click on the Return to View My Weekly Schedule link to close the window and return to the My Weekly Schedule page. 8. Click on the Return to Faculty Center link, the Faculty Center tab or the my schedule tab to return to the My Schedule page.
