Highlights New! Analysis Ready Data Tools Add-on package for image preprocessing for multi-temporal analysis Rigorous scientific preprocessing Example of satellite imagery time series of Canada A new industry leading set of tools specifically designed to produce geometrically and radiometrically corrected data at scale. This new package provides you with the capabilities to generate standardized illumination conditions and surface reflectance products to perform meaningful multi-temporal analysis through new big data architectures such as the Open Data Cube. Automatically preprocess large volumes of data The Analysis Ready Data Tools was developed to leverage the built-in automation available across the GXL platform. Through the GXL Python API, users can deploy workflows to automatically and rapidly preprocess large volumes of data, building deep temporal imagery stacks over their areas of interest. Intuitive atmospheric model calibration Dedicated graphical and statistical tools are at your disposal for guidance on the calibration and validation of your atmospheric models. Geomatica now includes improved and easier to use tools for comparing target and reference spectra from different sources. Page 1

New: DSM True Ortho Generate true orthos from highly overlapping stereo data derived DSMs. Automated True Ortho generation with DSMs DTM Ortho (left) and DSM True-Ortho (right) The DSM True-Ortho workflow was designed to guide you through the process of generating true-ortho products with minimal interaction. The generation of true-ortho products is completely automated by using digital surface models that eliminates the time-consuming requirement of manually digitizing buildings. Advanced multi-view DSM extraction Leverage sophisticated technology to generate high resolution digital surface models that are required for high quality true orthorectification. Our technology leverages newly developed elevation selection methods from digital surface models at different angles to achieve a completely nadir perspective of the surface, removing occlusions and artefacts. Stop using DTMs to generate orthos in challenging areas Generate perfectly nadir perspective DSM Ortho products that provide the best possible landscape representation without building lean in incorrect locations, no visible distortions in occluded regions, and increased visibility of streets. QA Tool Improvements The GXL 2018 release includes a number of updates within the QA Tool, all designed for productivity and easier project management. DEM Editor The DEM Editing tool has a new Hilly option feature for improved filtering of landscape features. The hilly option identifies natural slopes prior to filtering that makes it easier to filter features and preserve the natural landscape. Many new DEM algorithms added to the operations list for a variety of DEM editing tasks. Improvements to Fly! within DEM Editor to allow rendering of larger spatial extents. Mosaic Tool Improvements to the rendering and editing performance of the dodging point feature. A performance improvement for managing large-scale mosaic projects. Seamline boundary constraint feature to limit editing of seamlines within the extent of an image. Point Refinement Updated and improved default parameter settings for identifying and removing substandard points. Job, JPS, and Interface Updates ADS Ingest job update New Limit Concurrent Child Jobs feature for faster ingestion of ADS data located on hard disk drives. Improved file format handling and reduced disk space required for ADS data. Data Ingest job update Generates ground control points (GCP) and tie points (TP) exclusion masks that can later be applied to prevent ground control GCPs, TPs, or both from being created in areas identified by the mask. DEM Convert (DSM to DTM) job update The DEM Convert (DSM to DTM) job has a new Hilly option feature for improved filtering of landscape features. The hilly option identifies natural slopes prior to filtering that makes it easier to filter features and preserve the natural landscape. Updated and improved default parameter settings for filtering features. DSM Extraction job Update New pattern function reduces errors in regions with strong patterns, such as: roof tiles, and agriculture fields. Page 3

New epipolar selection method, pair contiguous that forms pairs according to the order in which the files are listed in the input file or folder. New LAS and LAZ support for exporting point clouds. Newly exposed parameters for greater control over the DSM extraction process. A 2x speed up in DSM extraction processing. Improved extraction of urban features for sharper building edges. Greatly reduced terracing and cross-hatching artefacts in DSMs DSM Extraction Airphoto job update New multi-view DSM creation functionality to combine different view angles for nadir perspective DSMs with less artefacts and occluded regions. New pattern function reduces errors in regions with strong patterns, such as: roof tiles, and agriculture fields. Greatly reduced terracing and cross-hatching artefacts in DSMs New GCP/TP Exclusion-Mask Generation job The new GCP/TP Exclusion-Mask Generation module creates exclusion masks by using spectral classification to prevent collection of ground control points (GCP), tie points (TP), or both from less-than-ideal sources, such as water, shadows, clouds, and like phenomena. GCP Collection job update GCP Collection has been updated to include new capabilities to automatically apply masks created from the GCP/TP Exclusion Mask functionality to exclude point collection in areas under the masks. New Image Resample job The Image Resample job reads the content of a specified folder to identify all valid images for resampling, and then batch resampling is performed on all images. Mosaic Preparation job update The Mosaic Preparation job has been updated to work in accordance with the new Mosaic Tool file formats. Mosaic Generation job update The Mosaic Generation job has been updated to work in accordance with the new Mosaic Tool file formats. Page 4

Pansharpening job updated Update to MRA Fusion algorithm for improved spectral fidelity in final sharpened result. New Pansharpening Sentinel-2 Imagery job The Pansharpening Sentinel-2 Imagery job automatically sharpens image channels contained in the 20-meter and 60-meter swaths based on the 10-meter swath. All pansharpened bands are then merged into one file. Tie Point Collection & Refinement job update Tie Point Collection & Refinement has been updated to include new capabilities to automatically apply masks created from the GCP/TP Exclusion Mask functionality to exclude point collection in areas under the masks. JPS functionality and interface New dynamic resource allocation functionality to automatically identify and assign maximum available resources for each GXL node by examining the hardware specifications (CPU and RAM). Processing history for each GXL job is now captured using the JSON format and included in the GXL Log. New Recent Jobs feature available that provides the most recent parameter sets applied on a specific GXL job. GXL Log now integrated directly into the GXL Job Details page. Access to context sensitive help documentation is now available on each GXL job-related page. Upgraded to the latest CUDA toolkit for GPU processing. Sensor Support Updates The following sensors are newly supported or have updated support: Gaofen-4: Level 1,1A support for orthorectification, pan-sharpening, and cloud detection and haze removal. Sentinel-1: Level 1 SLC stripmap mode, Level 1 GRD stripmap, interferometric wide swath, and extra-wide swath modes supported for orthorectification and polarimetric parameters. SkySat: Basic products support includes orthorectification and pan-sharpening. SuperView-1: Level 1B or 2A products support updated for orthorectification, pan-sharpening, and DSM extraction. Page 5
