Changing Email Settings in Micrsft Windws Live Mail 1. Open Windws Live Mail (this is fr versins 2008 and later). 2. Right-click n the accunt prfile n the left clumn and click Prperties. Verify Settings: 3. The initial Prperties windw will give yu multiple tabs. 4. Under the General tab, the name and email address shuld be crrect. Verify the check bx is selected t include the accunt when they click Send / Receive.
Verify Server Settings: 5. Click n the Server Settings tab Determine which server settings yu need. "My incming mail server is a" shuld either read POP r IMAP. Yu cannt change this field. Verify the Incming Mail server setting shws mail.gmtel.net. Verify the Outging Mail server setting shws mail.gmtel.net. Verify the Email Username shws the FULL email address Set the radi buttn n Lg On Using Clear Text Authenticatin. Check the bx fr My server requires authenticatin. Click Settings. 6. Verify the radi buttn n Use Same Settings as my Incming Mail Server. 7. Click OK.
8. Click the Advanced tab t access Prt and SSL settings. Check each bx that The server requires a secure cnnectin (SSL) In the Outging mail (SMTP) bx, enter the Prt number 465. In the Incming mail bx, enter 993 if using IMAP r 995 if using POP 9. Click OK nce finished. 10. Test the email prgram t see if yu can Send / Receive withut errr.

5. Click n Manage Accunts. 6. Select yur accunt t edit the settings. 7. Verify the Username is the FULL email address. 8. Yur passwrd shuld be crrect. Yu can leave it alne. 9. Yu can als leave yur Accunt Name alne. It is simply the name f the prfile.
10. Click n Change Mailbx Sync Settings. 11. On Sync Settings, the custmer can set / adjust the Dwnlad Email frm setting and adjust their name if they want.
12. Select Advanced Mailbx Settings t adjust server settings. 13. Scrll dwn t verify / change the actual email server settings. Verify the preferred email accunt is turned On. Change if needed. Verify / change the Incming Mail Server t mail.gmtel.net Add either :993 if using IMAP r :995 if using POP. Verify / change the Outging Mail Server t mail.gmtel.net:465 Verify the Outging Server Requires Authenticatin is checked. Verify the Use the Same User Name and Passwrd fr Sending Email is als checked. Place a checkmark in Require SSL fr incming email and Require SSL fr utging email 14. Once yu have finished with this set-up, Clse ut f this windw. 15. Test the email client t verify all settings are crrect.
Changing Email Settings in Mzilla Thunderbird 1. Open Mzilla Thunderbird 2. In the left clumn, select the email address that yu want t access settings. 3. Click View Settings fr this Accunt. Verify / Change Incming Mail Server Settings: 4. Verify the incming mail server settings are crrect. On the Accunt Settings windw, click n Server Settings n the left clumn. Verify the Incming Mail Server settings is mail.gmtel.net. Verify the Prt is set t either 993 if the Server Type shws IMAP r 995 if the Server Type shws POP. Verify the User Name is yur FULL email address. Under Cnnectin Security, select SSL / TLS frm the drp-dwn. Verify the Authenticatin Methd is set t Nrmal Passwrd. If yu need t adjust hw ften the prgram checks fr email, r if yu need t adjust Deliver Optins, yu can d this under Server Settings.
5. On the left clumn, click n Outging Server (SMTP)
6. If there are multiple SMTP server prfiles, yu may see them listed here. Select yur SMTP server. Yu can see belw what the server settings, prt settings, and username / passwrd settings are. If yu need t adjust anything, click Edit. Verify / change the Server Name is mail.gmtel.net Verify / change the SMTP Prt is set t 465. Set the Cnnectin security t SSL / TLS. Set the Authenticatin methd t Passwrd, transmitted insecurely. Make sure the User Name is the FULL email address. 7. When finished, click OK. Hit OK n the Accunt Settings windw. 8. Test email t verify settings are crrect.
Changing Email Settings in MAC Mail Open the Preferences Screen: 1. Open MAC Mail 2. Next t the Apple icn n the bar, click n the Mail drp-dwn menu, then click n Preferences. Verify / Update Accunt Settings: 3. Select the Accunts tab If there is mre than ne email prfile setup, be sure t chse the crrect prfile frm the left clumn. Verify / Update the Outging Mail Server (SMTP) Settings: 4. Click n the drp-dwn menu fr Outging Mail Server (SMTP) 5. The default server shuld be checked. Click n Edit SMTP Server List
6. Verify the Server Name field shws mail.gmtel.net. Advanced SMTP Settings: 7. Click n the Advanced buttn and verify / change these settings. T make any changes t this windw, uncheck the bx t Autmatically Detect and Maintain Accunt Settings. Set the prt t 465. Place a check in the bx fr SSL. Make sure that the Authenticatin is set t Passwrd. Make sure yur FULL email address is in the Username field. Enter yur passwrd if this area is empty. Any existing passwrd shuld nt need t be changed. 8. Click OK n the settings windw and X ut f the accunt windw. 9. Clse ut f MAC Mail and Relaunch the app t test the settings.

Make sure the Username field has yur FULL email address in it. Even if this bx states "Optinal" it is required by GMTel. The Passwrd shuld already be here. If nt, g ahead and enter it. Make sure that Use SSL is set t On. Belw this, verify the passwrd ptin is set t Authenticatin. Verify the Server Prt is set t 465. 5. Click Dne in the upper right. 6. If it des nt and yu cannt change it, please call Tech Supprt fr assistance. Make sure that yur Incming Server shws mail.gmtel.net Verify the Security Type shws SSL. If nt, click the arrw next t this item and select it. In the Prt field, yu will need t determine what type f server yu are using. If yu see IMAP server under the Incming Server header, chse Prt 993.
