1 A wireless keyboard is supplied with your computer. The wireless keyboard uses a stadard key arragemet with additioal keys that perform specific fuctios. Usig the Wireless Keyboard Two AA alkalie batteries are supplied with your wireless keyboard. Before attemptig to use the wireless keyboard, remove the battery compartmet cover (1) from the bottom of the wireless keyboard ad istall the supplied two AA batteries (2) ito the battery compartmet. If the wireless keyboard does ot operate properly, the batteries may eed to be replaced. If you do ot ited to use the wireless keyboard for a exteded period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible damage from battery leakage. If the wireless keyboard is left uused for 20 miutes or loger, your computer eters Sleep mode. To brig it back ito ormal mode, press ay key o the wireless keyboard.

2 To maitai good commuicatio, operate the wireless keyboard withi the distace limitatios of keyboard: approximately 32.8 feet (10 m) from your computer. Cofirm that the supplied AA batteries are properly istalled. If you fid your wireless keyboard ot workig, for example after you used the keyboard with aother VAIO model, recoect the keyboard. See To coect the wireless keyboard (page 6) for the detailed procedure. Avoid usig ay wireless devices that exchage radio sigals o the 2.4 GHz frequecy bad ear the wireless keyboard. These devices may cause iterferece, causig the keyboard to stop workig properly. Do ot place metal furiture or objects ear your computer or wireless keyboard, as this may create iterferece, causig the keyboard to stop workig properly. Do ot mix old (used) ad ew batteries whe replacig batteries i the wireless keyboard. Be sure to use the same type ad maufacture of the battery. Do ot mix alkalie with magaese batteries. Usig icompatible batteries or mixig used, ew or differet types of batteries ca damage the wireless keyboard.

The task associated with each fuctio key varies amog software applicatios except the followig combiatios with the F key to chage the LCD brightess of your computer scree. F+F5: Decreases lightig itesity of the LCD scree. F+F6: Icreases lightig itesity of the LCD scree. Illustrated above is the Eglish keyboard as a example. Whe the HDMI iput is selected, you caot use the fuctio keys o the wireless keyboard to chage the LCD brightess. To chage the brightess for the HDMI iput, see Usig the HDMI Iput Cotrol Buttos for the procedure. B VAIO butto Starts the Media Gallery. C Sleep butto Provides a lower level of power cosumptio. D Power switch Slide the switch to tur the wireless keyboard o ad off.zoom buttos E Zoom buttos Chage the size of a image or a documet displayed o some software. Whe the HDMI iput is selected, you caot use the volume cotrol buttos o the wireless keyboard to chage the volume. To chage the volume for the HDMI iput, see Usig the HDMI Iput Cotrol Buttos for the procedure. H Widows key Displays the Start meu. K Directioal arrow keys Move the poiter o the computer scree. L Idicator lights (Battery): Turs off whe the AA batteries for the wireless keyboard are sufficiet ad bliks whe the batteries wear out. (Caps lock): Turs o whe the Caps Lock key is activated. (Coect): Bliks slowly whe coectio betwee the computer ad the wireless keyboard is dow, bliks rapidly whe the keyboard is ready for coectio with the computer, ad turs off whe the coectio is established. M umeric keypad Use the umeric keypad to type umbers or to perform basic math calculatios.

6 To coect the wireless keyboard To coect the wireless keyboard, it must be located withi a rage of approximately 11.8 iches (30 cm) to approximately 39.4 iches (1 m) from the computer. 1 Make sure the supplied two AA batteries are properly istalled. 2 Tur o the computer. 3 Slide the power switch o the back of the keyboard to the O positio. 4 Press the COECT butto (1) o the bottom of the keyboard. 5 Press the COECT butto (2) o the back of the computer while the coect idicator light is blikig rapidly. The rapid-blikig coect idicator light turs off whe coectio is established betwee the computer ad the keyboard. If ot, repeat the procedure. The coect idicator light bliks rapidly for about oe miute to idicate that the keyboard is ready for coectio with the computer. If o coectio is made durig this period, the idicator light goes blikig slowly to idicate that the coectio is dow.
