MS WORD MS WORD is word processing software. We can write any type of matter or text in this software and attractive do this. In this software, file is called document and the extension name of the file is.doc. many pages are available in the document and many types of bars are available in the ms word window. In this software, we can apply formatting and rectify our spelling and grammar related mistakes. START---RUN---WINWORD---OK HOW TO START MSWORD WINDOW OF MSWORD The Microsoft Office Button In the upper-left corner of the Word 2007 window is the Microsoft Office button. When you click the button, a menu appears. You can use the menu to create a new file, open an existing file, save a file, and perform many other tasks. The Quick Access Toolbar Next to the Microsoft Office button is the Quick Access toolbar. The Quick Access toolbar provides you with access to commands you frequently use. By default Save, Undo, and Redo

appear on the Quick Access toolbar. You can use Save to save your file, Undo to rollback an action you have taken, and Redo to reapply an action you have rolled back. The Title Bar Next to the Quick Access toolbar is the Title bar. The Title bar displays the title of the document on which you are currently working. Word names the first new document you open Document1. As you open additional new documents, Word names them sequentially. When you save your document, you assign the document a new name. The Ribbon You use commands to tell Microsoft Word what to do. In Microsoft Word 2007, you use the Ribbon to issue commands. The Ribbon is located near the top of the screen, below the Quick Access toolbar. At the top of the Ribbon are several tabs; clicking a tab displays several related command groups. Within each group are related command buttons. You click buttons to issue commands or to access menus and dialog boxes. You may also find a dialog box launcher in the bottom-right corner of a group. Clicking the dialog box launcher gives you access to additional commands via a dialog box. We can activate the menu bar using three facilities- 1. with the help of mouse clicking 2. Press the alt button 3. Press F10 function key from the keyboard. 3. Toolbar- toolbar is a plate which contain the different types of small icons for execute the commands easily and quickly. Every icon of the toolbar connected with a command when we click over the icon then the related command will be executed. MS word provides different types of toolbar. We can show and hide the toolbar with the help of view menu. 4. Ruler- there are two types of rulers are present in the ms word 1. Horizontal ruler 2. Vertical ruler

You can use the ruler to change the format of your document quickly. If your ruler is not visible, follow the steps listed here: 1. Click the View tab to choose it. 2. Click the check box next to Ruler in the Show/Hide group. The ruler appears below the Ribbon. 5. Status bar- Ms Word contains a status bar at the bottom of the window. It displays the page no., line no., cursor position, and different types of information. We can hide or unhide the status bar with the help of option command in the tool menu of the ms word. 6. Short cut key-we can activate any command with the help of mouse clicking, or we can Activate the command with the help of keyboard by the keyboard we can executed the command easily. It is also called ellipsis. Whenever we can click that commands then a dialog box appear on the window. Ex:-open :-Ellipsis Hotkey:-A line is present in under the words character of menu are called hotkey. Normally can open a menu with the help of mouse clicking if we can open a menu with the help of keyboard that we can press the both keys. <Alt +hotkey of that menu>that a menu will we open. And we can run any command. Ex:- file F:-hotkey of the file menu.

Office button:- New:-we can create a new file with the help of new command. A document is collection of page many no. of pages may be present in a documents depend upon the size of memory. We can also create the template with new command. Click the Microsoft Office Button and Click New or Press CTRL+N (Depress the CTRL key while pressing the N ) on the keyboard

Open- by using this command we can open an exit file. Close:- by using this command we can close the current file. Save:-by using this command we can save the current file. 1. Click the office Button Or press ctrl + s 2. A window will appear 3. Write the file name and press save button. Save as:-by using this command we can save the file in second time with second name. Page setup: - by using this command we can done the setting of current page. Print:-by using this command we can get or take a print of current on other pages in the file Exit:-by using this command we can close the current software.

Home:- Undo: - by using this command we can remove or cancel the current or recently work.

Redo: - this command is just opposite the undo command. That it s remove the undo work. Cut and Paste: - Cut and Paste means moving the text. By cut we can remove the selected text from our document and place it at other location. 1. Select the text. 2. Select cut from Home Button. Or Press ctrl + x 3. Select location where we want to place our text. 4. Select Paste from Home Button

Or Press ctrl + v Copy and paste: - by using this command we can copy the selected content and picture etc. 1. Select the text. 2. Select copy from Home Button. Or Press ctrl + c 3. Select location where we want to place our text. 4. Select Paste from Home Button Or Press ctrl + v Paste: - by using this command we can paste the cut or copy text, picture etc.

Office clipboard: - it is a small memory, in this memory we can show or store the cut or copied text. Clear: - by using this command we can clear the selected text and format. Select all:-by using this command we can select the all text in a file. Find: - by using this command we can find a particular word, character etc. Replace:- by usi9ng this command we can any particular word, character,line etc. Go to:-by using this command we can reach go to an any line, section page, bookmark, figure footnotes etc. Font-by using this command we can change the font style of the selected text. Paragraph- by using this command we can done the setting of the selected text. Bullets an numbering-by using this command we can insert the bullet and numbering in front of the line. Ex- Insert Button-

Break-by using this command we can insert the page break, column break and section break on the pages. Table menu-this menu contain many facilities. What is table? Table is the group of rows and column we can write the tabular form data in a table there are following parts present in a table. Page number - by using this command we can insert the page number on the pages. Date and time- by using this command we can insert the date and time on the pages. Auto text- by using this command we can insert text on the cursor position. Symbol- by using this command we can insert the symbol on the cursor position. Text box-by using this command we can make the text box on the pages. Header and footer-by using this command we can insert the header and footer on the pages. Picture- by using this command we can insert the different types of pictures on the pages. Diagram- by using this command we can make the different types of diagrams in the file. File- by using this command we can insert the other file in current opened file. Hyperlink- by using this command we can make the hyperlink within the text.

Page layout:- Theme- by using this command we can apply the themes on the pages Page setup: - by using this command we can done the setting of current page. Page Background by using this command we can change the back ground of the pages Paragraph- by using this command we can done the setting of the selected text. Arrange: - by using this command we can arrange the all files in a opened. Break-by using this command we can insert the page break, column break and section break on the pages. Border and shading- by using this command we can apply the different types of border and shading on the pages. Mailings:- Create Envelops and labels- by using this command we can done the setting of the envelop and the label for the document. Start Mail Marge:- by using this command we can merge the mail with the records. Write Insert File:-by using this command we can insert file. Preview Result:-by using this command we can show preview result. Finest:-by using this command we can finest the result.

View menu- Normal- by using this command we can display the page in normal view. Web layout- by using this command we can display the page in web layout view. Print layout -by using this command we can display the page in print layout view. Read layout- by using this command we can display the page in read layout view. Outline -by using this command we can display the page in outline view. Task pane- by using this command we can display and hide the task pane. Ruler- by using this command we can display and hide the ruler. Show/Hide- by using this command we can display and hide the toolbar. Document map- by using this command we can display the page according to the map. Zoom- by using this command we can increase and decrease the size of the pages. New window: - by using this command we can open a opened file in new window. Arrange all:- by using this command we can arrange the all files in a opened. Split:-by using this command we can split the opened window.
