RoadRunner 24AP(i+) Recovering Tool Instructions Ver. 1.0
Follow these instructions if your modem do not boot. If you have questions or problems using this modem build in recovering tool, please contact A-Link technical support; by phone: +358600 41020 (2.67 / min + local network fee) or E-mail: techsupport@a-link.com 1. Download firmware update package from A-link website and unzip it to your computer. It is same firmware package used with update via web management. 2. To get modem recovery state, you should have IP addresses configured manually to your computer. Below instructions for different operating systems: Windows 2000/XP 1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Network and Dial-Up Connections 2. Move mouse over Local Area Connection icon and press right hand 3. Choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Press Properties 4. Choose Use the following IP address 5. Add IP-address 10.0.0.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 10.0.0.2 6. Leave Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server blank 7. When all necessary TCP/IP settings are done, press OK. In Network settings, press OK also (If windows needs to be restarted, press Yes) Windows Vista 1. Go to Start -> Network. 2. Press Network and Sharing Center button and then press Manage network connections link. 3. Move mouse over Local Area Connection icon and press right hand 4. Choose Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Press Properties. 5. Choose Use the following IP address 6. Add IP-address 10.0.0.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 10.0.0.2 7. Leave Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server blank 8. In properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), press OK. 9. Press OK in Network settings. Mac OS 1. Open AppleTalk -controller, choose Ethernet connection 2. Open TCP/IP -controller and modify these settings: Connection = Ethernet : Definition = Manual IP-address = 10.0.0.1 Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0 Gateway = 10.0.0.2 3. Save settings. Linux RedHat 8.0 1. Open Start Here from desktop, go to System Settings and Network. 2. In Devices, double click mouse s left hand button on top of your Network adapter and modify these settings: Choose Statically set IP addresses: Address = 10.0.0.1 Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 Default Gatevay Address = 10.0.0.2 3. Press Ok.
3. Make sure that you modem have power off and you have Ethernet cable connected between modem and computer.. 4. Press reset button back side of the modem with pen or needle. Keep pressing it. 5. Turn power on to modem and press reset button until modem PPP and WL/ACT led s has been flashed 5 times. 6. After you have released the reset button (PPP and WL/ACT led s keep flashing), modem is in recovery state and you can access to recovery website http://10.0.0.2 with your web browser. 7. Press Browse button on recovery website and find firmware image file (rr24api+_vxxx.bin) saved on your computer and press Open.
8. Press APPLY button to start recover progress. 9. Press OK for all above questions. 10. Wait few minutes while modem recovers the firmware. Do NOT turn off modem during recovery process.
11. After recovering process finished, press Reboot button on left side of web page. 12. Press RESET button to reboot modem on normal operation state. 13. Press OK for all above questions.
14. Please wait few minutes when modem reboots. 15. When login screen appears, modem has been recovered successfully and you can change your computer network settings to get IP addresses automatically. Next page are instructions for different operating systems.
