Installation 1 Windows Requirements and Installation Ensure your PC meets the following requirements prior to installing Calibrated Adobe XML Check: Pentium 4 processor with SSE3 support or greater; recommended at least Intel Core 2 Duo with two cores or two physical processors 32/64-bit Windows 7/8/10 or Vista (Business or Ultimate) or Windows 32-bit XP with SP3 Using Calibrated{Q} Decode codecs or Calibrated Create codecs with Adobe CS 5.0.3/5.5.0/6.0/CC/CC2014/2015 Applications: Installing on Windows To install Calibrated Adobe XML Check on a Windows Computer: 1. Quit any applications using Adobe 2. Run the Calibrated Adobe XML Check Installer. The install program creates a folder named Calibrated in the [System Drive]\[Program Files] directory. The Calibrated folder will contain the Calibrated Adobe XML Check application and User Guide. After running the Calibrated Adobe XML Check installer, you will be able to access the Calibrated Adobe XML Check application in this location: [System Drive]\Program Files\Calibrated\Applications\Assist\ CalibratedQImportAssist.exe Uninstalling on Windows To uninstall Calibrated Adobe XML Check on a Windows Computer: 1. Go to the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. 2. Select and uninstall Calibrated Adobe XML Check from the list of programs. 3. Restart your computer. Page 6
Mac OSX Requirements and Installation Ensure your Mac meets the following requirements prior to installing Calibrated Adobe XML Check: Mac Intel Computer Only; recommended at least Intel Core 2 Duo with two cores or two physical processors Mac Intel with OSX 10.6.8(Snow Leopard) or 10.7.5(Lion) or 10.8.5(Mountain Lion) or 10.9.4 (Mavericks) or 10.10 ( Yosemite ) or 10.11 (El Capitan) Using Calibrated{Q} Decode codecs or Calibrated Create codecs with Adobe CS 5.0.3/5.5.0/6.0/CC/CC2014/2015 Applications: Installing on Mac OSX To install Calibrated Adobe XML Check on a Mac Computer: 1. Run the Calibrated Adobe XML Check installer 2. Calibrated Adobe XML Check application will be copied to your /Calibrated/Applications/Check folder Uninstalling on Mac OSX To uninstall Calibrated Adobe XML Check on a Mac Computer: 1. Known Issues and Limitations The following known issues and limitations are associated with Calibrated Adobe XML Check: Please be sure to always close any Adobe applications when running Calibrated Adobe XML Check. When using Adobe After Effects, you will want to re-import any MOV files that you were using for the updated XML settings to take affect. This application will only update the Adobe XML files for the current User Account that you are logged into in your computer. If you update any Adobe applications please be sure to always use the Calibrated Adobe XML Check application to make sure the Adobe XML files are up-to-date Page 8
Overview 2 This application will update the Adobe QuickTime XML files for the following Adobe CS 5.0.3/5.5.0/6.0/CC/CC2014/2015 Applications: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Encore to enable decoding from the Calibrated{Q} Decode codecs and enable encoding from Calibrated Create QuickTime codecs at 8-bit YUV422 or 10-bit YUV422 colorspace which will greatly improve decode or encode performance in the above Adobe applications for Calibrated software 10-bit YUV422 support is intended 10-bit YUV422 compressed video. To work in 10-bit YUV422 in After Effects please make sure that your Project Bit Depth is either 16-bit or 32-bit and to work in 10-bit YUV422 in Premiere Pro please make sure that your Sequence Settings are have Maximum Bit Depth and Maximum Render Quality ENABLED. The Adobe XML Files that will be updated are located in the below folders For Mac OSX /Users/[User Account]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/ For Windows 7 or Windows Vista [System Drive]:\Users\[User Account]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common IMPORTANT: For Windows folder path - the AppData folder in the above path may be hidden. This application will only update the Adobe XML files for the current User Account that you are logged into in your computer. If you update any Adobe applications please be sure to always use the Calibrated Adobe XML Check application to make sure the Adobe XML files are up-to-date Please be sure to always close any Adobe applications when running Calibrated Adobe XML Check. User Interface With this feature, Calibrated Adobe XML Check can create OP1a MXF Files, QT Ref MOV files or self-contained MOV files from MXF (in conjunction with Calibrated{Q} MXF Import) and XDCAM EX MP4 files (in conjunction with Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import). Please note that rewrapping to MXF OP1a is only for XAVC-L, AVC-LongG, XAVC/AVC-Intra 2k/3k/4, XDCAM, IMX, or XAVC/AVC-Intra HD MOV/MXF files. Please note that this is a re-wrapping only feature video is not converted. Update XML Files This will update the installed Adobe XML files. Please remember to restart any Adobe applications. Recheck XML Files This will check the installed Adobe XML files to see if they need updating. Page 10
