The PulsePro Transcription module provides a method of creating and storing patient transcription documents within the PulsePro database. The Transcription Filter screen allows the user to display a list of selected documents that meet specific criteria. This list may be sorted in many different ways to provide the best fit for the user s purpose. Click anywhere to continue Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 1 of 39

To begin, it is assumed that you are logged in the PulsePro application with the appropriate security and permissions to complete this task. Click the Reports/Forms group button in the Navigation Pane. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 2 of 39

The Transcription window is displayed consisting of a toolbar, a series of criteria fields, a list pane and a preview pane. Add criteria to one or more of the fields provided, then click the filter button on the toolbar to locate the transcription documents which meet the specified criteria. To quickly select a patient, enter the patients account or chart number in the fields provided. Otherwise locate the patient by clicking the lookup button on the Patient field. This list pane is now populated with records for each transcription document meeting the specified criteria. Let s explore some of the additional criteria fields provided. The Type field is a drop-down list of all Note Types as configured in the Clinic Note Types table. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 12 of 39

Select an option in the list or, as with all drop down lists, select the null value at the top of the list to view all note types. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 13 of 39

Use the Lookup buttons on the Dictated by or Transcribed by fields to select documents dictated by a particular physician or transcribed by a particular transcriptionist, respectively. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 14 of 39

Select a particular Date Range for documents by the Date of Service or which were transcribed on a certain date by typing a date in the fields provided or selecting a date using the pop-up calendar. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 15 of 39

The Temp field locates temporary documents that have not been saved, typically documents that got caught in a system crash. Select this checkbox to locate and resolve these documents. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 28 of 39

Finally, the Signing User field allows the current user to login as another provider and sign documents assuming sufficient permission has been granted to them using the Assigned Providers tab of Staff/Physician table. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 29 of 39

Let s put some of these fields to use by demonstrating how to use multiple fields to locate transcription documents. To clear any existing criteria, click the Clear button on the toolbar. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 30 of 39
