Purpose Using HS Cafe Multimedia Cart This document will overview how to plug in, power on and use the HS Cafeteria Multimedia cart for most general uses. 1.) Native Cart Format Here is the cart in the native form: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 2 of 24

2.) Setup 1. Place cart in the area of the Cafeteria room, allowing reach for both the power cord and video cable cord. 2. You will need to unlock the cabinet portion of the cart to remove the laptop. 3. Notice the three wires on the top that are for sound, video and power for the Dell Laptop: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 3 of 24

4. Place the laptop on the surface and start plugging in the different wires: 5. Power cord: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 4 of 24

6. Video Cable: 7. Sound Cable: 8. Connect the power cord coming out of the White Presentation cabinet (black power cord) to the wall or power source: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 5 of 24

9. Connect the black video cable (coming from the wall running to the projector on the ceiling), to the blue end of the video cable coming out of the cart: (You may have to unplug this cable from the desktop computer located against the wall in the cafeteria.) C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 6 of 24

10. Push the power button in the upper-right hand side of the laptop and power on the laptop: 11. Unlock/Open the cabinet, you will see the DVD player: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 7 of 24

12. You need to make sure that the DVD is powered on using the power button: 13. You may have to use the remote and make sure the AUX is selected using the function button on the top-right of the DVD remote: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 8 of 24

3.) Powering On The Projector 15. When you login, go to the start menu and under Admin select the Café Projector: 16. Once you click on this link you should see the following screen: 17. Enter the appropriate username and password and click Login (refer to Tech or the HS Principal for more information): C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 10 of 24

18. The following web-page home will appear: 19. Click on the Projector Status and Control on the left menu and the following will appear: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 11 of 24

22. You will then automatically be re-directed to the Projector Status and Control page, you can exit the internet window completely. C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 13 of 24

4.) Using the Laptop/Projector/Sound System 23. Now that the projector is powered on and plugged in you should see the Laptop screen content also projected from the over-head projector. (If you have trouble with this you may use the Fn + F8 buttons on the keyboard to tell the laptop to display the material on the laptop and the screen, this should automatically happen by default, especially if you plug in the external video cable before powering on the laptop) 24. For reference, you would see similar to this(the content on both screens : 25. You may go about given your presentation/showing videos, etc. 26. If you need to adjust the sound you should first try adjusting the sound on the Laptop by using the Mute, Volume Up, and Volume Down buttons located in the upper-left hand corner of the Dell Laptop: (If for reasons beyond general circumstances you cannot obtain the volume that you wish by making these changes, you may adjust the sound on the DVD player up or down. If you adjust the sound on the DVD player, be sure to set it back to 30 after use. You may use the remote with the up and down volume buttons or use the + or button on the DVD player itself. 5.) Powering Off the Projector 27. Go back to the start menu and under Admin select the Café Projector: 28. Once you click on this link you should see the following screen: 29. 6.) Powering Off The Computer 35. Now, you have finished your presentation and shutdown the Projector you may shutdown the laptop. 36. In order to shut down you may first have to Log Out: 37. After logging-out, you will be back to the Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to log on screen, Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE: 38. Notice the red power button in the lower-right hand corner of the screen: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 19 of 24

39. Click on the up-arrow and select shutdown from the list: 40. The computer will then power down, wait until the computer fully powers down to go to the next step. C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 20 of 24

7.) Powering Off The Sound System 41. You will need to open the cabinet and push the power button on the Sound System/DVD Player to turn off the system: System Power Button C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 21 of 24

8.) Unplugging The Sound System 42. When you are finished power down all systems, you can move on to unplugging and preparing the care for storage. 43. You may unplug the power cord from the outlet or wall source properly store the cable from the wall: 44. Then unplug the video cord and store the video cord from the wall near the computer on the cart: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 22 of 24

45. You can then wrap the cables up, similar to what you see in the picture below: 46. You will then need to unplug the cables going to the laptop: 47. You will then place the laptop inside of the cart on-top of DVD Player: C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 23 of 24

9.) Locking The Cart/Final Steps 48. When you are finished, you should have all loose material either placed in the laptop drawer, or placed inside of the cabinet. You need to make sure that whenever this cart is not in use that it is locked and secured. 49. When you have finished you should return the Cabinet Keys to the HS Principal (Office or to the Technology Department) C.Whittaker 7/11/2016 Page 24 of 24
