The printer kit 556-00239 contains a TT230SM printer without cutter. The printer kit 556-00256 contains the TT230SMC printer with cutter. The cutter is required if printing and cutting HellermannTyton Solid Colored Continuous Rolls. The printer with cutter should not be used for printing HellermannTyton ShrinkTrak or Foam Nameplate labels.
Each kit will contain a printer, hard shell case, TagPrint Pro 3.0 software and a ribbon. The 556-00256 kit will also contain a white ribbon.
Ensure that you have received all items associated with your order. This will include the following for both kits: TT230SM or TT230SMC thermal transfer printer. Caddy Cardboard ribbon core USB Stick USB cable Two pieces of Velcro Power supply Power cord Basic setup guide Tagprint Pro 3.0 label software A black ribbon **NOTE: The 556-00256 kit also contains a white ribbon.
The printer shown in this guide is the TT230SMC with cutter. Print Head After unpacking your printer, pull on the green release tabs on both sides of the printer lid. This will release the lid and allow it to open. Carefully remove the paper print head protector and discard. Do not touch the print head.
1 2 3 4 Pull open ribbon cover as shown in step 1. Insert the ribbon core by aligning the slot on the right side first and then pressing on the spring loaded spindle lock to engage the left side of the core as shown in these photos.
Do not touch 1 2 3 Print head when loading ribbon. 4 5 Turn gear counter clockwise to tighten ribbon on core. Be sure to wind the ribbon until you only see BLACK and none of the blue leader.
1 Close ribbon cover. 2 Move guides apart. They are not needed. 3 Check that the sensor is centered in the printer. If not, move the sensor to the center.

Once Velcro is applied to both the caddy and the printer bottom, attach the caddy to the printer by mating the Velcro strips as shown below.
Plug in the power supply and USB cable.
1 Insert caddy spindle through the core of the label roll. 2 3 Adjust the label guides using the small gear to the right side. The label stock should fit between the too guides, but not too tightly. Stock should move easily between the guides.
Load the continuous roll of label stock as shown. Adjust the label guides using the small gear to the right side. The label stock should fit between the too guides, but not too tightly. Stock should move easily between the guides. Make sure to feed label through the printer opening
Press the green tab to release the cover so that it can be closed as shown below.
Turn on power to the printer. The light on the top of the printer, located by the Feed button should turn green.
Plug your USB stick into a separate port on your computer. This stick contains your printer driver. Plug your USB cable into a port on your computer.
SELECT OPEN FOLDER TO VIEW FILES
ACCESS THE FILES ON THE USB STICK DOUBLE CLICK ON HT719M3 TO OPEN THE DRIVER INSTALLER
CLICK ON NEXT
CLICK ON FINISH
Ensure that Install printer drivers is selected and click on NEXT.
Select the TT230SM driver (Select this even if you are installing a TT230SMC printer. Click on NEXT.
Select or highlight USB001 and click NEXT
The default printer name istt230sm. If you are installing a TT230SMC printer and wish to change this to TT230SMC, make the change and click NEXT.
Click FINISH and your printer driver should be ready to use.

Remove the TagPrintPro 3.0 installation disk from your package. Insert the CD into your CD ROM drive.
The following prompt will appear after the disk has been inserted into the CD ROM Drive. Click on Open Folder to View Files
A list of files will appear. Double click on the file named TagPrint.
TO INSTALL A SINGLE-USER VERSION, INSERT THE CDROM INTO THE COMPUTER. THE FIRST SCREEN THAT WILL APPEAR IS THE LICENSE AGREEMENT. CLICK ON THE CHECK BOX TO ACCEPT AND THEN CLICK ON INSTALL TO CONTINUE TO DEFAULT DIRECTORY AND SETTINGS. TO CHANGE THE INSTALL SETTINGS, CLICK ON ADVANCED.
THE FIRST SCREEN IN THE ADVANCED SECTION WILL ALLOW THE USER TO CUSTOMIZE THE INSTALL DIRECTORY. THE USER CAN CHOOSE TO INSTALL THE PROGRAM ANYWHERE ON THE COMPUTER CLICK NEXT.
THE NEXT STEP IS TO SELECT WHAT OPTIONS ARE TO BE INSTALLED. IF NO OPTIONS ARE INCLUDED, THE DEFAULT WILL BE A FULL INSTALL. CLICK ON INSTALL TO PROCEED.
A STATUS BAR WILL SHOW THAT THE SOFTWARE IS INSTALLING. THIS CAN TAKE A COUPLE OF MINUTES. CLICK NEXT.
THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN INSTALLED. CLICK FINISH.
Launch the program via the Start menu and/ or the HellermannTyton folder TagPrint Pro 3.0 also can be launched from a Desktop icon or shortcut.
AT THE START OF THE PROGRAM, THE USER WILL SEE SOME INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTERING THE PROGRAM. THE SOFTWARE MUST BE REGISTERED TO QUALIFY FOR FREE TECHNICAL SUPPORT. IF THE SOFTWARE IS NOT REGISTERED, A MESSAGE WILL APPEAR ON THE MAIN SCREEN THAT STATES THAT THE PROGRAM WILL LOSE FUNCTIONALITY IF LEFT UNREGISTERED. ENTER
Note that your SERIAL key is located on the back of the CD ROM package. This will be needed after the software is installed.
ENTER THE SERIAL NUMBER, AND CLICK ON TEST.
