We tested our software under Windows 7 and 10. Installing Drivers The controller driver is not installed, the CONUCON Software cannot be connected to the controller. Follow the instruction to install the driver: Open the device-manager 1. First Steps Thank you for choosing our product. This user guide helps you to get started with our Linion or Fresadora kit and shows you the first steps in our CONUCON software. Please check our Youtube channel for additional step-by-step support. Sometimes you need to install a driver, when you first connect the processor via USB. The driver is included in our software package. Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 2

Use path: CONUCON_181216\driver Open menu with right mouse click Finish installation Search for the driver software on the computer Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 3

The driver is installed successfully. The assigned COM-Port should be selected in the CONUCON Software before CONNECT. Connecting 1. To run the CONUCON application, just open the /bin/conucon.exe file. Installation is not required. 2. To choose the right virtual port, use the drop-down menu next to the connect button. 3. Select connect. 4. If Connect automatically on program start is selected and the same port is used, the application is self-connecting, when restarting the program. If you are unsure about the right COM-Port, check for the port number in Windows Device- Manager. Select the corresponding port in the CONUCON Software. The green bar indicates that your PC and the CONUCON device are connected now. The yellow bar indicates that the application version is incompatible with your device and not all features are supported. Please update the firmware. The red bar indicates that you are not connected. Attention: Please select Disconnect before you unplug the device. Graphical User Interface Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 4

Safety instruction: emergency stop Select E-stop to stop all motors. This sets the system into alarm state. No driving commands can be executed. Use the command $x to terminate the alarm status. The emergency stop can cause a step loss. Check the offset-position before you continue working. Positioning with shortcuts Use G-code to enter commands. The positioning can be done by using short command, like in the following example. Example 1: Enter the command x1 in the terminal. Immediately the motor stats turning it reached position 1 in X direction. Analogically you can do this for positioning in Y and Z direction (only Fresadora and Dora) Firmware Update Our products are delivered with the latest firmware version. For that reason the Update Firmware Button is disabled in the delivery state. Download the latest software package from our website. Open the CONUCON application with bin/conucon.exe and choose Connect. Go to SETTINGS and select Update Firmware. After you have confirmed the, the updating process will start. The updating process can take a few minutes. All settings will get adopted. Only settings, which were not accessible are set to default. 2. General Settings For every graphical operating element a corresponding text command has been implemented. If you use a graphical operating element you can see the corresponding text command in the terminal. With the command $ you get a list with the text commands. This table gives some important commands. $$ show settings $# view # parameters (disabled) $G view parser state $N view startup blocks $C check gcode mode $X kill alarm lock $H run homing cycle? current status * reset controller M4 / M5 M8 / M9 photo Relay 1 On / Off Relay 2 On / Off Beta Test: Photo Widget With the command $$ you get the current settings. This table contains some important parameters. $0 steps/mm x $1 steps/mm y $2 steps/mm z $3 microseconds step pulse $4 mm/min default feed rate $5 mm/min default seek rate $6 step port invert mask $7 step idle delay, msec $8 acceleration in mm/sec^2 $18 homing dir invert $19 homing feed mm/min $20 homing seek mm/min $21 homing debounce, msec Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 5

$22 homing pull-off, mm $23 manual modus (Joystick) $34 Verbosity of the messages in connection log $35 Refresh interval Example 2: Enter the command G1 X1 into the command window. Like in example 1 you see the positioning in X-direction. Now enter the command G1 X100 F600. The machine will move in x - direction with a speed of 600 mm/min until the position 100 has been reached. Default settings Work speed 250 mm/s Positioning speed 500 mm/s Acceleration 10 mm/s² Step per millimeter 400 PIN 10 Y axis PIN 11 Z axis Enable Homing by assign Homing stage to each axis under SETTINGS. Homing will be conducted in the order of Homing stage order. Attention: Homing is blocked when an end stop has been operated. Conduct Homing by selecting homing on the CNC window or by entering $H in the command window. It is not allowed to enter any commands during the homing process. Typically the machine touches the end point multiple times. Work coordinate system To set a user-defined zero position, drive the axis to that location. Select Zero position in the menu next to the display of the coordinates. This will set the Work coordinate to zero. You can choose in the menu which coordinate should be displayed. Axis configuration Homing and end switch For using end stops, select the type of end stop under SETTINGS for each axis (mechanical or optical). Attention: After changing the end stop (limit) setting, the system have to be disconnected are reconnected (DISCONNECT CONNECT) The pinout for the end switches: PIN 9 X axis Under SETTINGS it is possible to configure every Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 6

axis. Invert direction: Inverts the motor direction. Step per millimeter: With this box you can change the motor movement per unit. This value is influenced by the step-angle and the rise of the spindle. Example 5: The NEMA 17 stepper motor does 200 steps for one revolution (1,8 step angle). The default setup is the half-step-mode. So one evolution takes 400 steps. If the motor is in position x = 0 the command x1 causes a full turn of the motor for the x-axis. If you use a ball screw with a pitch of 4 mm, you need to enter 100 in steps per millimeter. You can calculate the right step number per millimeter with the formula below. steps per round Steps per Millimeter= pitch in mm Homing stage: With Homing stage the homing function can get configured. We suggest at the Linion to put the X-axis on the first stage. And when you use a three axis-system like Fresadora or Dora, do the homing first for the Z-axis and then for the other ones. The numbers define the order of the axis in which the homing will proceed. With no homing the homing can get disabled for this axis. Invert homing direction: With Invert homing direction you can configure the spinning direction of the motors during the homing. Step port number: With the Step port number you can set the tact for the particular axis to a port/pin. Direction port number: The Direction port number indicates which port/pin the turningdirection defines. Acceleration The acceleration can be set global with the command $8. So it is effective for all other commands. Acceleration can also be set under SETTINGS. Example 3: Enter the command $8 = 10 in to the command window. The acceleration is now 10 mm/s. Breaks With the G4 command you can enter breaktimes in seconds. Example 4: Enter the commands G91 x1 G4 P10 x-1 in to the G-code editor and select start. Like in Example 1 you see the positioning in x-direction for one unit. Then a break for 10 seconds will take place followed by the positioning back on the starting position. Pinout Every digital pin can be used for clock or direction of the axis. Please use the following numbering. Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 7

PIN TX1 RX0 RST GND D2 D3 D4 D5 D6 D7 D8 D9 D10 D11 Name TX1 RX0 Reset ground clock X direction X clock Y direction Y clock Z direction Z enable endstop X endstop Y endstop Z D12 Relay 1 D13 Relay 2 A0 A1 A2 A3 A4 Emgerncy stop Pause Restart Cooling on/off SDA (Bus) Attention: The command set will be edited to the existing command sets in the G-code. And the machine always executes the entire code. The loaded command sets can be handled in the G-code editor. Executing Select Start to execute the command sets. Tip: After finishing the command sets use homing to return to the referenced position. Saving The command sets can be saved as GC-file (.ngc or. gc). Select save to do so. Photo Widget beta test A new Widget for 360 Photo turntables has been integrated into the CONUCON Software. As this is a beta-test the Widget is invisible, when you start the software. You can make the PHOTO-Widget visible by enter photo into the command window. You can turn the x-axis by using the buttons (Half-step-mode). Furthermore you can create a routine with the Loopcreator with defined turn-angles and breaks. You find the created code in the g-code Window in the CNC-Widget. The Buttons Routine 1 to 6 can be linked to individual code routines. A5 SCL (Bus) 3. Command sets Load and edit The CONUCON application can load command sets from G-files (.ngc or.gc). Use Import File to load any command sets. Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 8

4. Routines With routines you can assign command sets to keys on your keyboard. A routine can be a sequence of commands or just a single one. Rountines will be saved under /lib/shortkeys. Example 4: Select the routine line. Press the key 1 on your keyboard. It will start the example routine 1.ngc. The routine runs the X-axis to position 1 and afterwards to position 0. The filename contains only one character. Its the same character to which key it's assigned. To create a new routine, just enter the example circle_100mm : 6. Accessories Joystick The Joystick provides two keys (Z and C) and one joystick. The Joystick-Module needs to be connected to the Main module as described in the following table Joystick Modul (Arduino Nano) Fresadora (Arduino Nano) GND GND GND 5 V 5 V 5 V A5 A5 SCL A4 A4 SDA Dora (GRBL Shield) enable/disable: Press Z and C to pilot the X-axis and Y-axis. Z-axis: Press only Z to drive the Z-axis. Orthogonal modus: For positioning in along only one axis (X or Y), press C. command set into the C-code editor and save it under /lib/shortkeys. Please name the file like the character you want to assign it to. 5. Code examples You will find the G-code examples below: /examples/gcode example hole_10mm example square_20x20 Voltage supply The stepper motors drivers need a voltage of 10 to 24 V. Optional you can order the kit with a power supply with a voltage of 12 V. This power supply has a plug. You put the plugs of the motor driver and the power supply together and you are done. Attention: Check the right polarity of the plugs! Wiring In the attachment you find the circuit diagram for the Linion and the Fresadora systems. Wire the components like the respective diagram. Don't forget to connect GROUND to processor and motor driver, as well as EN-, CW- and CLK-. Dezember 2018 CONUCON Software v181216 9
