Fixings for Mobile Radio Base Stations The Telegärtner Group is now pleased to include cable clamps and cleats to extend its portfolio of products in the mobile communications market. These products have been designed specifically for cellular telecom towers and have a proven track record of success with professional rigging companies, due to speed of installation and interlockability. Alongside the standard range of products, we are able to offer designs and patented ranges of innovative clamps and cleats to suit the everchanging requirements in this market. The current range includes single, double and four-way clamps. There is also a range of cleats with rubber inserts capable of holding up to 8 cables, waveguides or fibre cables. Cable Clamps and Cleats All clamps are designed to precisely fit the cable with flexibility for cable tolerance for specific foam-filled feeder or fibre cables. A range of 12 cable diameters from 5 mm to 58 mm is available. Available in standard black, the flame retardant clamps are available to UL94 V-0 (0.8 mm) LSF halogen and phosphorous free. The range of cleats is designed for use with rubber inserts and with secondary cables that are not air-spaced or foam-filled such as fibre, power and earth cables. These cleats with rubber inserts have recently been a preferred solution for holding fibre cables. Additional material has been added between the jaws of the cleats to eliminate crushing the cable if overtightening occurs. A range of 17 diameters from 5.5 mm to 63.5 mm is available. Studding and Fasteners Most accessories are made of grade A2 stainless steel. To attach to a tower leg: either M10 MKD or BPA with hose clip 1 With these you then need a stud. These come in various lengths depending on the number and combination of clamps or cleats you require. You then also need nuts, flats and washers. 5 To cover the end of the stud, you need a stud end. (other colours available on request) 6 OR 4 2 3 As an option, you can use a welded stud, which can be bent to fit around the tower leg (M10X100WSTUD). It s all in the detail There are three key features that make these clamps stand apart from the competition, leading to their popularity with installers and network operators alike. All clamps have an external interlocking feature. This means that all cables on the tower can be aligned and also leads to easier installation, and improves the dressing of the cable and its aesthetic appearance. All clamps have an internal locating feature. This means that damage to the cable through twisting due to poor installation is stopped, potentially saving money and reducing downtime on a site due to fixings. Inside the clamp there are ridges which hold the cable in place. This design allows the cable to twist slightly, leaving it free to move with the tower in bad weather conditions, but not to slide through, putting too much stress on the equipment at the top of the tower due to fixings. Accessories Telegärtner s clamps and cleats are also complemented by a full range of installation accessories. These include weatherproof covers for protection of 7-16 DIN connectors on antenna systems, diplexers and TMA s and earth kits for feeder cables. Where upward facing 7-16 DIN connectors on top of such items require protecting from water ingress, then a relevant bung is used with the boot. The bung is available to suit 3/8, 1/2 superflex and 1/2 feeder.
