Page 3 of 6 02 icoud Drive icloud drive is Apple s cloud service. You can probably get away with syncing on Wi-Fi only. Go to Settings > Cellular In the section CELLULAR DATA, scroll to the bottom, turn OFF icloud Drive. 03 Wi-Fi Assist Wi-Fi assist switches seamlessly between Wi-Fi and cellular services when Wi-Fi service is weak. This can improve your browsing experience. For example, if in section 01, you turned on cellular data for Safari, Safari will use Wi-Fi if it can but switch automatically to using cellular data if your Wi-Fi signal is weak. I would leave this setting on (default) but just be aware that device might use cellular data when you think you are on W-Fi. Wi-Fi Assist applies to more than Safari browsing. It applies to most Apple apps such as Apple Music, Mail, Maps, and more. Again, it is more important to make the settings in section 01 and just be aware if you are on a weak Wi-Fi connection. 04 Automatic Downloads There is very little reason to perform AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS via cellular. If you have unlimited data, it is nice that your iphone always has the latest downloads. But, is this necessary if you are frequently on reliable W-Fi? If you are in Low Power Mode, AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS are disabled. Go to Settings > itunes & App Store In the AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS section, Set Use Cellular Data OFF 05 Background App Refresh There is very little reason your apps need to continuously refresh in background. If you have unlimited data, it is nice that your iphone background apps always have the latest data. This might be a good thing if you are traveling and need instant access to the latest flight info.
