To Setup your Business email id in MacOS X El Capitan Mail (POP) To find MacOS version please visit: Apple Support macos version Depending on your MAC OS version, your screens may appear a bit different, but the setting will be the same. If you have already set up an account in Apple Mail, click Mail => Add Account in the menu OR, Click Mail => Preferences => Under Accounts => Click on + If you are using Apple Mail for the first time, you can skip this step, as apple mail may prompt you to add an email account please see step 3.
3. In the Mail account provider window, choose the option Other Mail Account... and click Continue. 4. The Add a Mail account window will appear. Enter below details : Full name : User defined E-mail address: Complete email id Password : above email id password Then, click Sign in or Continue * using Apple Mail for the first time you will get Sign In
5. Enter below details for Incoming POP server: Email Address: Complete email id User Name : Complete email id Password : Password of the above email id Account Type : Select POP Incoming mail server : pop.rediffmailpro.com Outgoing mail server : smtp.rediffmailpro.com Click on Sign In
Incase, you get the below message, Click Continue. This will be without SSL. Ignore the 2 server identity messages > Continue 6. Select any apps > Done 7. Your Mail account is now set up. Now you will see your new account in the list with any other mail accounts. However, to avoid any future issues, continue with these few tweaks below. Congratulations! You have setup mailbox successfully!
In case you face some issue while sending mail or receiving mail. Please re-check the below settings 8. Go on Mail => Select Preferences 9. Choose your new account from the list on the left. Tap on your mail, Under Account Information Tab: Please Check below details entered are correct or not: Click/Select Enable this account Account Type: POP Description : User-defined Alias : User-defined Email address : Complete email Full name : User-defined Incoming mail server: pop.rediffmailpro.com User Name: Complete email id Password: Above email id s password
9.1 Tap on your mail, Under Mailbox Behaviors Tab: Here it is user defined. Please go on Advance Tab
9.2. Tap on you mail, Under Advance tab: Uncheck the box next to Automatically detect and maintain account settings Check the box next to Include when automatically checking for new messages User-define to Check or Uncheck Remove copy from server after retrieving Without SSL OR With SSL Port no : 110 OR Port no: 995 SSL : Uncheck OR SSL : Check Check the box next to Allow insecure authentication.
10. Now we will check for Outgoing mail server : Click the dropdown arrow on Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), and choose Edit SMTP Server List 10.1 Under Account Information tab in SMTP Description : User defined Server name: smtp.rediffmailpro.com TLS Certificate : None
10.2 Under Advance tab in SMTP: Uncheck the box next to Automatically detect and maintain account settings Without SSL OR With SSL Port no : 587 OR Port no: 465 SSL : Uncheck OR SSL : Check Authentication : Select Password Check the box next to Allow insecure authentication. Username : Complete email id Password: Above email id s password 11. Close and Save settings when prompted. *****Done*****
If Apple Mail does not try to send or receive e-mail for your account after verifying these settings, it may be because the account is still offline.
