Welcome to the PGC Think the Game Short Course. Now that you ve signed up, there are a few things you need to do to make sure you re ready... FORMS TO COMPLETE: Complete the Medical Release and Liability Waiver and bring this form with you to check-in. DO NOT mail the form to us in advance. Keep this entire packet in a safe place until you come to your short course. DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES: Check-in is from 5:15pm-5:45pm on Friday evening. The check-in location is available on page 5 of this packet. The course will wrap up on Saturday evening at 8:00pm. Players may be picked up between 8:00pm-8:15pm. FRIDAY SCHEDULE: 5:15pm-5:45pm Check-in 5:45pm-6:00pm Optional meeting for parents (The Director of the course will provide an overview of the session and address the most frequently asked questions.) 6:00pm-9:00pm Classroom and Gym Session 9:00pm-9:15pm Closing and Departure SATURDAY SCHEDULE: 8:30am- 8:45am Arrival 9:00am-12:00pm Classroom and Gym Session 12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch 1:00pm-4:00pm Classroom and Gym Session 4:00pm-5:00pm Dinner 5:00pm-8:00pm Classroom and Gym Session 8:00pm-8:15pm Closing and Departure MEALS: Meals are not provided on Saturday. PREPARATION FOR PGC: We recommend that you come to your short course in the best shape possible. The ideal way to prepare for your session is to complete our new Pre-PGC 30-Day Challenge. Visit our Online Training page at pgcbasketball.com to begin your challenge Today! Work hard and prepare yourself well you ll be glad you did. THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU TO PGC: A basketball with your name on it (we will only be playing indoors) Clothes (basketball shoes, shorts, shirts, socks, etc.) Pens and/or pencils and a notebook Athletic tape - if you have an injury that requires it A water bottle with your name on it Your completed Medical Release and Liability Waiver Form ADDITIONAL ITEMS: Healthy Snacks As athletes typically get hungry after each gym session, we recommend bringing healthy snacks. Extra Spending Money There will be PGC shorts, shirts and other merchandise on sale at check-in and check-out, so we recommend bringing extra money. Items can be purchased with cash or check. Credit cards cannot be processed. INJURIES: If you are injured prior to your short course, we hope that you will still attend. Your experience at PGC is not dependant on your ability to play on-court. Please contact us if you need to discuss your situation further. If an emergency arises with an athlete during the session, the athlete will be referred to a local medical facility and parents/guardians will be notified. INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES: If you are an athlete attending a short course in a country that you are not a resident, you must purchase international travel insurance and provide a certificate of coverage to PGC two weeks prior to the start of your short course. The certificate of coverage can be faxed or emailed to the contact information listed on the following page.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations for any reason up to 30 days before your short course will receive a PGC CREDIT (not a refund) for tuition paid, minus a $25 administrative fee. This PGC credit can be applied towards an available short course or summer course in 2012. You can also transfer this PGC credit to a family member, teammate/friend, or donate to an underprivileged athlete. Cancellations for any reason within 30 days of your short course will not receive a PGC credit or refund. In the unlikely event PGC cancels your short course, a 100% refund or credit will be provided. PGC will not provide compensation for any transportation related or other expense incurred. TUITION PROTECTION Our Peace of Mind Policy: PGC offers Tuition Protection for $15 per athlete that must be purchased at the time of registration. If you cancel 30 days before your short course, Tuition Protection entitles you to a full refund of registration fees, minus a $25 administrative fee. Cancellations within 30 days of your short course will receive a PGC credit (minus a $25 administrative fee). This PGC credit can be applied towards an available short course or summer course in 2012. You can also transfer this PGC credit to a family member, teammate/friend or donate to an underprivileged athlete. If you cancel within 3 days of your short course there will be no refunds or credits. As you approach Greensboro, follow Business 85 South/I-40 West into Greensboro/Winston-Salem (exit #131). Business 85 South will then split from I-40 West. Stay to the right and Follow I-40 West towards Winston-Salem. *Go approximately 7 miles and take the Wendover Avenue exit (#214). Turn right when coming off the exit ramp and follow Wendover Avenue
approximately 3.8 miles to the Market Street exit. Turn right at the traffic light at the bottom of the exit ramp. Follow Market Street for 1.7 miles. Turn right onto College Place. From the North via Highway 29 Follow I-29 South into Greensboro until it merges with South Business 85/I-40 West. Stay to the right and follow I-40 West towards Winston-Salem. Follow directions at the asterisk (*) from this point. From the north via Highway 220 Follow into Greensboro (it turns into Battleground Avenue). Continue on Battleground Avenue towards downtown Greensboro for several miles. Turn right onto Hill Street after the railroad crossing. Take immediate left onto Mendenhall Street. Continue a half a mile to the second light (West Market Street) and turn left. Take your first right onto College Place. From the South via Interstate 85 Take the Business 85/ I-40 West exit (#120) into Greensboro. From Business 85, take the Holden Road exit. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto Holden Road. Follow Holden Road for approx. 10 miles. After going under the Wendover Avenue overpass take a right at the 3rd light. This is West Market Street. Follow West Market Street for appox 2 miles and turn right onto College Place. NOTE: If you missed exit #120, take the first exit (#124 Elm-Eugene Street) off of I-85N. Turn left off the exit ramp. Follow Elm-Eugene into downtown Greensboro (street name will change to Eugene Street). Cross West Market Street and turn left onto Friendly Avenue at the next light. Follow Friendly Avenue to the 4th light, Mendenhall Street, and turn left. Turn left at light onto West Market Street. Turn right onto College Place. From the South via Highway 421 Follow Highway 421 to Business 85 South/ I-40 West. Follow the I-85 directions from the North at this point. From the West via Interstate 40 Follow into Greensboro. Take Wendover Avenue East (#214). Stay on Wendover Avenue for 3.8 miles and take the West Market Street exit. Turn right at the traffic light at the bottom of the exit ramp and go 1.7 miles. Turn right onto College Place. From the Piedmont Triad International Airport From the main terminal, stay in the right lane when the road forks and take the Bryan Blvd. Exit. You will come to the stoplight and turn right onto Bryan Blvd. Travel approximately 9 miles and get into the right lane as you come into the curve. Get into the right hand turn lane and make a right onto Hill Street. Make an immediate left onto Mendenhall Street. Go half a mile and make a left onto Market Street, getting into the far right lane as you turn. Take the first right onto College Place. The Greensboro College sign is on the left, the Welcome Center is on the corner on the right as you turn.
